Caving in, Going 285/30/20. Now DWS or DWS06?

So instead of waiting for the bridgestones 305 size, I believe I am going to order the continental DWS.

Now does anyone have any experience on DWS vs DWS 06? is it worth the extra $130 difference?

Tried reading some reviews and the reviews i've read stated the more dry and wet performance but is it noticeable? Would it help with light snow?

Im NY so have to deal with all the seasons here. Not planning to drive my car in the snow but wouldn't want to be limited. Plus if my wife needs to take the car for whatever reason i rather have a tire that can handle anything.

If i was in cali..i would not be changing my tires!!

Why are you going 285 vs the factory 275? The Continentals come in the factory size. I have had both and did not see any difference between the two.

My factory fronts are 285 and rears 305. 10” rim and 11”.

Ok that’s good input! Did you drive the vehicle hard at all when you had both? What vehicle did you have them on? Only thing I could find as a difference was apparently the DWS has an off connected feel when pushed but being in NY..especially city area there is very little backroads to even push ☹️

Smile All Season Tires

I'm running 275/35(they are about .85" taller - no issues with abs etc) and 305/30.
Bridgestone RE980's.
RE980's are not made in the 285/30 configuration
Now I can "survive" the snow and cold!
Wisconsin.

The re980 are impossible to find in factory size. They are on backorder everywhere.

Why are you even considering the DWS if you can even find them? The DWS06 is the new one with upgraded tread material. And the DWS06 is pretty old already.

go with the dws06. Great tire and you can get a replacement should you ever need. If you go with the older model and you need a tire in a pinch it probably won't be available.

lets talk fitment for a second. How will this setup look with 285 on the rear instead of 305?

Go with the DWS06, we have them on our Audi SQ5 and they are a great tire. Only other tire I would look at is the Michelin Pilot A/S 3

Yeah i just realized, i'd be saving in the beginning but if i needed a replacement then i would have to order a brand new set since the DWS would probably been even harder to find.

Shouldn't be that bad. Couple of 1LE people are running 285/35/20 on there cars. Use to come stock as well on the 5th gen 1LE
