I'm guessing either depth should be OK for our cars; might be an issue for pinch welds that aren't as tall. Not sure if the wider width would have any negative effect on stability.

.385 is plenty wide with lots of room, Id go with these. Or to be sure quickly measure all your other cars pinch welds. Just keep in mind you will need pucks tall enough to clear the Camaro body panel. Take a close look at my pictures.

I have 3/8" to 1/2 " of clearance.

You will need some sort of puck to use these on the Gen 6, since without them the base of the jack pad point will be above the plastic body panel. Even setting a smaller puck in your jack would work fine as long as its thick enough.

The rear will be fine, but if the front is low to get the jack under them, just make a couple 2 x 10s and angle one end so it has a ramp. You can also ad a bump stop very easy. I had to do this, since my lift will only go so low to get my lift pads under low cars.

Okay, so I guess you're saying that, once the pinch weld is seated in the slot, the round part clears the rocker panel but the cradle of the jack would not. It needs about another inch of height then, right?

I looked real close at those "Lifting Pucks" and they look remarkably similar to NHL regulation hockey pucks with a hole drilled in them. In fact, they are hockey pucks. They just drilled a hole and added common washers and eye bolts. So I scrolled down to the section labelled "Sponsored products related to this item" and found a dozen genuine NHL hockey pucks for $17. It's cheaper and saves me the trouble of disassembling them.

$16.99 Faswin Classic Ice Hockey Puck, Set of 12

What am I gonna do with the 8 extra hockey pucks though? It doesn't get cold enough here to play with them. I suppose I could drill some holes, buy some hardware at Lowes, and sell them to you guys for $30 a set.

Why reinvent the wheel, the set Im using work perfect and the car sits on the nylon. My set also has the magnets about flush with the nylon surface, and thats what you want.

Hmm... I was thinking that the pinch weld should NOT be touching and the sides of the slot would be supporting the weight on either side of the weld. This is how the OEM scissor jack works on the pinch welds of my daughters and grandson's cars.

The ZL1 of course doesn't come with a jack or tire... Could someone with an SS chime in? How does your car jack work? Does it straddle the pinch weld and support weight on either side of it or does it actually lift on the weld itself?

Found this from that actually does explicitly explain that weight should be on the weld itself, not on either side

Great! Thanks for posting that. I take it your SS jack works this way too, huh?

Well my shipment of DW's recommendation came in today but boy am I an idiot. I totally didn't factor that I'd need to put quantity 4 for the pinch weld adapters. So I have 1 jack point and 4 pucks. Back to Amazon...

I know this post is from April but had a few questions. What is the depth and width of the ZL1 Addons jack pad slot? I've seen the links to amazon for the blue and orange jack pads. I'd like to go with the orange since I have a 50th Anniversary edition and color matching as much as I can with the orange theme. Just want to make sure it's deep enough... i believe the width is fine. I also have a 2013 5th gen which I will use the same jack pads with.

Also, adding a hockey puck to either blue or orange jack pads, is it recommended to secure the 2 together with epoxy? I have a floor jack lift addon height adjuster that I can set into the circle (has a center groove so it doesn't move). If I use that or a puck, will it slip off the jack pad when lifting the car?

I use this, works great. Fits perfect between the rail and plastics and has enough clearance on the weld. Stop wasting your money guys

This thing clears the opening on the rockers (side skirts). I bought a version of this that didn't clear the side skirt.

reviving a pretty old thread here but i did #search.

with these, are you guys leaving them on after you use them? seems like the screws suggest these are meant to be left on long term but seems a little risky especially for track duty. people having good luck with loc-titing the threads and leaving them on? or does that seem a little weird to everyone?

thanks!
