Yes, the ZL1 addons lift points can be put on without lifting the car.

And to answer my own question, I went back and found the How It's Made Camaro episode. Lansing uses a carrier at/after marraige that holds the car very close to or right at the pinch welds, aft of the aluminum K member. Hard to see in this shot, but easier in the full episode.

As far as the pucks, let me take a look at mine and get back to you here

All you do is remove the eye bolts & T nuts, then carefully epoxy to the jack pads. I used my black silicone seal, put a little weight on them all night .... Done !

Trust me this is a nice set up, I tried a few on my 17 1LE and was never happy.

Just keep in mind if your using a floor jack to be on flat smooth cement. Then have the jack wheels lined up so the jack can roll smoothly when jacking up the car. And of course a low profile jack may be needed.

Cheers Dale
Thanks Dale! That's perfect for me even without the pucks. I don't plan on installing them permanently. Looks like they'll rest neatly in the cradle of my racing jack if I take out the rubber pad. As an added bonus, I can probably use them for my family's other vehicles with pinch-weld lift points.

Huh ? These have magnets, so you only stick them on the pinch welds when you want to use them. Takes a few seconds !

Hi Cal

You will need some sort of puck to use these on the Gen 6, since without them the base of the jack pad point will be above the plastic body panel. Even setting a smaller puck in your jack would work fine as long as its thick enough.

The rear will be fine, but if the front is low to get the jack under them, just make a couple 2 x 10s and angle one end so it has a ramp. You can also ad a bump stop very easy. I had to do this, since my lift will only go so low to get my lift pads under low cars.

This looks like the ticket. I think I'll just pick these up. Sure beats $150+ for a ZL1 addons lift points and mag puck(s). Mag pucks quantity 4 is $236

Got it, I installed a set on my 1LE. They are a pain to install without the car up in the air, then I found they are almost flush with the plastic body panel.

1. They should have slightly longer set screws with a hex head to get to them.

2. They should hang down at least a 1/4" lower.

Just experience with those

PS ... Dont get me wrong those are top quality, just need a couple tweaks to be perfect.

I make motorcycle performance parts for a living, and seriously thought about producing a set like my finished set here, but not sure I will mess with it.

This combo is sweet, with the proper diameter and height to clear everything, and are very stable.

There are several different adapters available at Amazon, with different slot depths. Is there something I should be looking for? I would think the idea would be the pinch weld would sit on the white nonmetal part and the depth should not be too deep so the car doesn't sit on the metal sides of the adapter? Is it possible for the slot depth to not be deep enough? I was looking at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Why reinvent the wheel, the set Im using work perfect and the car sits on the nylon. My set also has the magnets about flush with the nylon surface, and thats what you want.

Thanks, mainly wondering because I have 3 other cars that could use this type of adapter.

Looks like the slot in yours is 0.63" deep, 0.385" wide

The one I was looking at is 0.55" deep, 0.47" wide

I'm guessing either depth should be OK for our cars; might be an issue for pinch welds that aren't as tall. Not sure if the wider width would have any negative effect on stability.
