Project Camaro - 2018 ZL1 1LE

Hello Everyone. Just wanted to pass along that I am going to start sharing updates to my 2018 ZL1 1LE on my channel. Not sure how many people are into watching that sort of thing, but a lot of changes are happening over the next month, and I will FINALLY be at the track.

If you want to follow along, it should only get more interesting from here (exhaust, track days with me driving, tips and tricks, etc).

Hope to meet many of you out at the track and local events.

Here is the first video of my series. I won't be posting in this thread section anymore, so follow along if you like and have a good day.

-Tito

Those tips look awesome!!! Hard to believe you have to worry about sound level with stock exhaust.

Lots of good stuff going on...

Really like how you set up the "Laguna" pipes.

We have one track in Phoenix that has a 95db limit, so I may end up doing something similar. Of course, that track is right next to an Air Force Base...

Did you consider using V-band clamps as opposed to the 3 bolt header flanges? I would think it would have made swapping them easier...

I fear that even with my laguna tips I will blow sound now with this Borla muffler. I might only track my miata next year though, who knows!

And I was afraid I might be the only one here with a track Miata...

Miata and ZL1 are definitely opposite ends of the spectrum!

Yeah I just put AWE exhaust on. No way it will pass now, lol. I'm debating making the exhausts easily interchangeable or just giving up on 5-6 for Laguna from here on out.

Thread resurrection!

Great vid!

Does anyone know which of the pipes exiting the Borla Atak system (with valves) is the pipe that all the exhaust flows threw when the valves open?
Assuming it works the same way as the stock NPP suitcase system.

I’m trying to figure out which pipe is the one I’ll need to add a custom detachable Laguna pipe with muffler to, in order to reduce noise levels to under 95Db

If not I’ll just call Borla tomorrow and find out

*EDIT*

I'll likely need to cut both pipes/tips to make enough space for a detachable muffler anyways, I'll add pics and vid when I'm done in case it helps anyone.

Welding in flanges is an outstanding idea. Solid under stress and load, and completely interchangeable.

Powder coated tips look great.

FWIW, I de-badged both my air extractor and rear bumper shortly after delivery. IMO, it really cleans up the look.
