engine revs up to much on warm start

I've been remote tuning with PCM of NC, witch is garbage, but a hole nother story and they just gave me a refund. The most recent tune they sent me (where the car will actually run), when i crank the car it revs up higher than it used to, and when its a warm start its even worse and pops and cracks really loud, like embarrasing loud.
Im all for the pops and crackles on decel, but not on a warm start, its very annoying. It literaly sounds like im stomping the gas pedal to get it to crank. SOOOOO loud

Does anyone know what tables/values i can change to tone this down a little

Im currently on Prays waiting list, but I would like to fix this now. Im pretty sure everyone in my apartment complex hates me now.

Mods? Ported TB I assume?

Crank Airflow directly affects flair on start and Catalyst Warmup directly affects timing on cold start.

Its a full bolt on car, TB is a Jet 103, MSD manifold, TSP stage 2 cam, Kooks headers with high flow cats, AWE exhaust will all the exhaust vales deleted.

So why would the tuner have changed my Crank airflow values?

What can i change to help calm it down?

It sounds like your cranking idle airflow is set way too high. Look at your stock tables, if that's where the trouble is, copy and paste the stock tables into your tune.

Thank you, the sounds reasonable, but I'm a newbie with tunning. The problem is I dont have the stock file. This car was built and tunned a couple years ago, im the 3rd owner and i just recently bought a HP tuner Mpvi2.

You may be able to find a stock tune for your car in the HP Tuners repository that you can access from your account. Last time I checked, they had several stock 2016-2017 SS and ZL1 tunes.

I sent you a PM, it almost sounds to me your issue is because someone messed with virtual torque and either made the coefficient calculation unstable or just adjusted it too much when they shouldn't have. Torque based control of idle takes over really fast after it first starts up making you think it might be a startup airmass/VE problem. I was surprised at how little the start up VE and air models made a difference.

Like others said though make sure it isn't a vacuum leak. Specifically like not torqueing the intake manifold bolts down enough or missing gasket.

And like others said you can disable cat warmup, it retards timing and uses dual pulse injection when cold though only. Overall it uses more fuel but it does help with cold start smell.

Thanks guys. I put the Crank airflow back to Stock and that solved the problem.
Im just curious why the tuner raised up all the numbers in that table, I mean almost double from stock?

Since I have high flow cats, should I still disable the Catalyst warmup?

I have seen some really dumb things after looking through some "tooners" tune files. Not sure what they were trying to do increasing the, I am assuming you are talking about, base airflow cranking table. I tried changing the VE table and decreasing it, since my cam should theoretically have less volumetric efficiency at the low rpms during cranking.

I am also curious if you tried the tune file I sent you? I bet it would work good for you considering our cam profiles should be pretty similar along with our other mods.

Yeah i dont understand why the changed the base airflow cranking either.

I have not tried it yet, maybe today I can flash it and see how it feels. Thanks again.

I am interested to see how you like it and see if you think its any better than the canned one you got.
