THINKING ABOUT MODDING?

In case some of you new folks were wondering on how much you could end up spending on customizing your 5th gen Camaro, as most of us have to some extent, and most of us have gone way out there, this gal sums it up nicely, and she has done just about everything you can do except for FI. Enjoy the vid as she is fun to watch and her energy doesn't stop, and she can turn a wrench!!

I could’ve bought another daily driver with the money I’ve spent since I’ve owned the car.

guess i was lucky when i modded my old pontiac tempest.met a guy that owned a GTO restoration buisness, and helped there after my regular job.learned to sandblast, reupholster seats and helped out on some projects.bought a pro built 400 block and heads for $1000,got a judge carb and intake in exchange for upholstering a judge convertible that was featured on the speed channel.took my car to bare metal and my friend painted it for me.there was not too much on that car we didnt touch, and it probably cost me 10 grand to own for 25 years.i have a hard time wanting to shell out 400 bucks for a cold air intake now.

Many will agree and many won’t. But two things about her and her very nice car. Being young - with money, lead to the money pit. I have all the American creature comforts one could ask for but as I’ve mentioned before about modding everything I owned, I’m glad I got over it. Because invariably, I eventually wanted it all stock/OE again.

But that doesn’t keep me from blowing my money on something else!

Don't even get me started. If I had to guess I would say I've easily put 30k into my car. And still haven't done the paint work yet!!

Agreed.
So far I have kept it low key with 3K in mods and those are quality GM just to chase what I didn't get on the low rent LS model. Four gauge package next and then maybe I'm done. Probably.
Hopefully.
Maybe?

So far, I have spent at least 150% of the original price on mods.

There’s the other resolve you must have. When that $10K FI purchase and install throws a (insert grenaded part(s) here) you have to be willing to accept it, fix it and move on. We’ve all seen it here. How many mods eventually sunk the ship? How many simply considered it the price of doing mod business?

But by no means am I saying YOU shouldn’t do it. If I had a Silicon Valley sponsor, I’d singlehandedly stimulate this econ with mods.

I estimated around $12-15k on mine so far (not including the car, of course!), but that also includes an engine swap. I have a list on my PC of most of my stuff that I need to add up.

Both Kayla & Raquel have had some bad luck. Kayla's wheel fell off in one video Raquel is always having bad luck , neighbor keying her car, axle breaking etc. Gotta love these young women for their enthusiasm. Wish there were more like them.
