Every time you're considering buying an extended warranty on something, skip it and put the money into a dedicated savings account. If you ever experience a situation that the warranty would have genuinely covered, you have an account to go to that will pay for the repairs.

Unless you think there is something wrong with your car then I would not purchase an extended. If it was a money losing transaction on their end they would not offer them. I bought a Z28 once and I knew a rod was knocking and bought the warranty and when it went I got a new engine out of it. I even told the salesman it had a rod knocking but he didn't care they were getting their cut.

If the original paperwork does reference the TSB, you could also consider opening a case with Chevy around it to ensure that the work IS being done according to the bulletin and have the issue logged directly with GM against your VIN for future reference... |

2nd time was the arms broke (where the top is attached deep inside the car). These are not simple fixes as it requires the entire top to be replaced. PITA under warranty, but cannot imagine the cost without. And we are talking about a very babied vehicle with under 10K miles...

On the fluid flush, it sounds like there was damage done to the torque convertor and they don't want to replace it. They are just putting a band aid on it to keep from replacing it. just my thoughts on that. good luck with your car and getting it fixed

I'm not a fan, but if it eases your mind go for it.

If it doesn't cover the top or the damage the top does thanks to that sliding panels, it does not even come close to easing my mind, thusly why I have yet to purchase it.

The TSB stated that it had to be done first, well, it was done twice and is still with them, so hoping this time around it has a different outcome.
