I've sold two cars to Carmax, got KBB value for them even with a ruined bumper on one.

I was offered 22K for my 2012 Stang with 25K miles. I got a screamin deal when I bought NEW back in 2012 for 25.8K. I love the car, but that’s over 6k more than I was offered 2 years ago with fewer miles. I just don’t think I can pass on the offer.

I just received a letter informing me that I'm getting another fifteen hundred bucks. I'll take it, I suppose, but I certainly don't need it.
I'll wager that inflation will be under the 2% target set by the federal reserve unless they just never stop with the stimulus checks.
I agree that’s one part of the story but it’s much deeper than that. Especially when you look at the positive trajectory of raw material prices and no indications of an end in sight. I’m not nervous yet because we’re still in a period where this is correctable (with some short term pain) even if the trend continues for another two months but I’m starting to see where this could go off the rails if action occurs too late.

Wow. What are they thinking?

Carmax are idiots. They will try selling that for 28k!

I went on auto trader and you can get 2018 Mustang GT premiums used at dealers for just under 35k right now.

Carmax marks their cars up about 4k more than a typical car lot.

When I was shopping for cars last sept on average carmax was 3 to 5 grand higher than what regular lots list and carmax cars had more miles too!

Vroom gave me the highest offer, making it hard to turn down.

Vroom's was the highest for me as well. I know there are many who share that they've had a great experience with those types of companies, but it was still something to be nervous about for me. You can use that offer as leverage other areas too. For example, GMTV will often try to beat it and some dealers will match or beat it as well.

Vroom offered me a little over $46k for 12k mile 2020 2ss convertible. I think I'm going to sell and order a new zl1. I paid right at 50k for it in fall 2019.

Really hard to hold on when the offers are this good!

If the $50k you're referring to was the OTD pricing, that wouldn't be a bad deal at all. You paid $4k to drive the car well over a year, and over half of the was the sales tax alone.

If that is you're all-in price difference, then I would dump it. Sit on the money until the market cools down, or pursue getting a good deal on a new one.

Geeze... I'm going to have to check VROOM for my Camaro and my Tahoe. I'll just ride my Harley for now. Damb...

Looking at prices on AutoTrader, I just put mine up for an outrageous price!
If I get it I get it, if not I'm happy to keep it! Getting harder and harder to justify it as a summer toy considering I spend most of my summer on my boat.

I'm sure financially it would make sense, but I like the car to much. Plus I'd be bored as hell without having a "fast" car until this whole thing is over (whenever that may be).

kind of the same thing... wife and I got our house a year ago, paid 402k. Houses r now selling for 575-580k. COULD we sell...sure. but the we would have to rent for some ridiculous price or buy another house at these raised prices. Either way, ill sit on both and enjoy the car. Plus 2019+ redesign sucks
