No further tuning required for headers?

Basically I had a remote tune done for ported LT5 TB, ported intake manifold and a rotofab. After installing 2 inch catless headers, I sent my same tuner a log and he said it doesn't look like it needs a retune. Is this true? It looks to be running leaner than when I had the headers.

Eventually you'll get o2 cel codes pop up until your tuner deletes the rear ones in the tune.

Required? No, until the CEL pops for the rear o2's (if he hasnt already shut them off)

However to say that the same tune with factory manifolds will be as efficient as an updated file for the headers is incorrect.

I say a tune is a must if you want the most gains and no cel mel.

dont get remote tunes. The torque based LT1 needs a dyno with a eddy brake to tune it find a dyno tuner who can properly tune your car. where in ny are you located? if near Buffalo J&J Speed Shop. you removed your stock cats you need a tune.

since you clearly don't trust your tuner, ask yourself this question:

how do his cars run? are they known for being strong or is he just another tuner?

if the answer is not the first one, you chose wrong to start with. tune is paramount...and has been since the internal combustion engine fired its first cylinder. if there's no question of his work - take it and move on. worry about something else.

without looking at your log file its hard to tell you what's right or not.
