Yay!

Well done SEB, I was hoping for FS but I'll take BS

Also a big fan of this proposal: #25430 - Move BMWs (M3 Competition Pkg) out of the stock pony car class to BS, I've written a letter in favor of this also.

So now the question is buy 19x10/19x11 wheels to run in BS or 19x11 and run in CAM-C? No mods planned for the car. Not building an autocross car, autocross will just fill the void between track days.

Will the 305 RE71R fit on a 10” wheel? I know the specs say the RS-4 will.

I was waiting for this classing decision to make the very same decision. If BS then 19x10/19x11 MRR's, a front bar, 305 RE71R's and enjoy, if it didn't get moved to BS I was going to do a CAM-C Light build (19x10.5/19x11, 305 RE71R's, DSC controller, e-diff cal, springs, solid cradle bushings, and headers/intake/tune).

Yes a 305 RE71R fits on a 10" wheel (I ran a 305 RE71R on a Forgestar CF5 on my Gen 5 1LE). It's pinched on the wheel though and an absolutely massive PITA for a shop to install but it is doable. If you don't care about autocross/classing then you may as well just buy a 10.5 or 11" front wheel (will an 11 even fit under a non-ZL1 fender?). But I've got to ask why you'd want to run a RE71R if your primary focus is on track days, the stone is not an ideal track tire.

I wish Bridgestone made a 285/30/19 or a 295/30/19 stone, that would be fantastic.

I like where your head is, and doing a BS build will definitely save you a shit load of money. I'm already running the 19x10/11 MRRs w/ 305RE71s setup and I can say it works wonders, the one thing I will say is just be carefully not to run the fronts too low cuz you will get a lot of side wall rollover, I was running them at about 28-29 hot for a few events and the front grip was great but it was tearing up my side walls (rookie mistake I know lol).

I actually was already prepping for a CAM build, I bought a set of used DSSVs and was getting ready to run that setup for CAM along with T2 in the new SCCA Time Trials next year. Now that this move has happened I'm going to stick it out in BS and run S1 (or hopefully it moves to S2) for Time Trials. On that note now that we got this move done everyone needs to submit letters for moving the 16+ SS from S1 to S2 on the 2019 proposed TT rules!!!!

be sure to also write a letter that you agree with the current proposal.

I am looking at a 1LE as well.. i think the 19 refresh looks mean in a 1LE, not so much a base SS. Either way I like the MRR M755 wheels(the zr1 knock offs.) the offset is closer to factory

So regardless of whether or not the M3 move happens this year what do we think will be the chief competition for the 1LE in BS? M2 Competition?

Now im not 100% but i dont think the newest M2 competition is going into BS right away.

I wouldn't discount the 1M, C5FRC or Cayman S either though. I don't think the super-ponies will be the car to have but at least they will no longer be buried.

On a side note not really thrilled about this.

13.5.A.8 Vehicles in Super Street originally equipped with an adaptive ride control system (MSRC, MRC PASM, AMS, etc) the calibration may be altered using an OEM provided re-flash or the entire controller may be replaced with an approved aftermarket shock controller.
Approved controllers: DSC Sport

If one Street Class can have shock controllers all Street Classes should be allowed to have shock controllers.

I forget about the 1M lol. Those just wont show up is the same numbers as the M2 just because the 1M is a collector now or always was.

I agree thats kinda odd but also might be a test... for other classes in the future?
