18" wheels for track use / racing

Question for you track guys out there:

Do you use 18" wheels for track use?

Tires are much cheaper, but then again 18's won't clear some of the big brake kits.

What's everyone's opinion on that?

I use 18x10.5 with a 305/680/18 slick. Clears the brakes with room to spare, however you will need the correct offset along or a spacer and extended studs to move it away from the strut knuckle if you are running any type of camber more than -1.

Do you have pics?

With coilovers, would you add clearance? What offset are your wheels?

Some pic with 18. Pics give you the offset with the rims other pics give you an idea of how much space is needed and how much clearance is needed on the strut apologize if it isn't clear voice to text sucks

I've got a V6 so I'm not trying to stuff the max amount of tire under my fenders, but I am happy that I got 18x10 wheels for the track. A drop of over 40# from OE 20's, and access to cheaper track tires.
A lot of us are happy with Apex wheels, they're not hubcentric so you need a hub ring. But they're light, good looking, affordable and apparently strong.

No, square 10.5 et 22 (with a 12mm spacer) coilovers or multimatics would allow for much better clearance. The stock ss and ss 1LE struts are not clearance friendly.

Hub centering rings are not even necessary.

They are nice to have but not at all necessary, specially for a track wheel.

You must be confusing nick and I. Nick runs staggered 10.5 / 11R.

I run 10.5 front and rear for a rotate able setup.

yeah. I can do the same though as i have 4 10.5 and 4 11 so mix and match but as how my car sits now 11 dont clear the front strut with current spacers and will not wanna add anymore!

Now these DSSV might just clear! hehehehehhehehehehehe
