My thoughts, the rpm was pretty obviously wrong on that dyno, making the calculations wrong. These motors in bolt-on form with the stock intake manifold typically make peak hp in the 5500~5800 rpm area, not down at 5100. As far as the torque numbers, those are obviously bogus, torque peak at 2800 is not true for this motor. Real torque peak likely in the 4000s like someone else mentioned. Those big torque bumps early in the run, which produced the high torque numbers, are not real in other words.

Enjoy the car, just don't believe the bogus data on that sheet is all I'm saying.

I bet the dyno wasn't done in a 1:1 gear. From the looks of that graph, it was likely done in a lower gear, which is why the torque is high and the horsepower is low, per se.

I'm betting the car actually makes like 480/480ish. But it doesn't really matter in the end. So long as he's happy with the performance.

I didn't want to say anything, but I was going to say that torque was pretty good, but HP was low.

I figured we have the same mods.

That said however, his peak torque is in the correct range which is 3500 rpm. Although mine peaked at 4000 I believe.

Here's mine: Also bare in mind, his parts are more for torque gains than mine are. Also on an A8 I believe it is 6th gear is the 1:1 gear for dyno testing.

Torque should peak at 4400-4500 rpm for the LT1, if it doesn't, there may be some limitation or restriction still at play.

Is there a lot of these discrepancies with dyno sheets in that torque ranges seem different from one car to the next?

I see my peak starting at 3800 rpm and going up to 4500+?

While I see his starting at 3500+? Is that just diff in tuning?

OPs HP looks good, but on a typical NA LT1 dyno graph I have not seen 62-64 lb ft of more torque than HP. I agree with another post here that peak Horsepower and Torque #s usually stay pretty close to each other. I feel OPs torque is out of whack here.

Yours looks fine. I'm not an expert at all, but it seems that a limit is gradually creeping into his pull and causes torque to drop faster at higher rpms (4000+), which is why his peak hp is much lower than his torque.

Here's what mine looks like, I have FI and a +32 fuel lobe cam, but the torque curve is still perfect and stays well under peak hp, which is expected for a boosted LT1. (Sorry about the quality, it's a video screenshot good enough to illustrate the point, though I could scan the printout, too.)

RPM of horsepower and torque peaks , 1 pull on 93 octane, other pull on E70, same day about 1 hr apart. This just helps verify approx horsepower with similar bolt ons. My car has no headers, secondary cat delete xpipe, Borla R axle back versus attack, stock air box with LT2 unported intake manifold. The Peak horsepower #s are similar to the OPs on 93 and E. Torque #s inline with HP #s
