My first Camaro, 2013 2SS, Love It!
This is really my first sports car. I am 65, engineer. I enjoy bicycling, firearms competitions, and now a red Camaro! I bought a 2013 2SS loaded, red with black leather interior, auto, navigation, sunroof, HUD, etc. 77000mi. Engine and transmission and brakes and transaxle all run perfect. Here are the issues I have noticed:
GPS not working, although Nav operates correctly; Internal LED dome light out; Door accent lighting is out; One foglight is out. Questions: 1) How do I turn on the foglights, or is it automatic? 2) Can I run google maps from my Samsung phone on mylink? 3) Any other apps or integration with mylink? 4) Can I run 87 gas in this without an damaging the engine? 5) Any way to retrofit the sun visor with a larger visor? 6) Any additives you recommend on a regular basis? 7) What am I missing or should I watch out for? Also, the doors have these decals on each side. Does anyone know if there is any significance or upgrades done or was this a special package? https://photos.app.goo.gl/C91KhbmfiGBbtR2UA Thanks, Cody Annandale, VA280269 https://photos.app.goo.gl/tjh6Yhqmo1JKCrRn7 |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

608RS,
THANKS! You answered all of my questions. You said this: "listen for loud valvetrain, as the automatic motor tents to see valve lifter failure" What does that sound like? Thanks, Cody |

SSammy, How much of an advantage will the Chip give me?....20,000 miles or 100,000?

it will sound almost like lifter failure, kind of hard to describe but it'll be a much louder "tick" coming from the valvetrain. it's also possible the previous owner already disabled the "displacement on demand" feature to help preserve the life of the lifters.
