GMs marketing is abysmal. Just look at the new Buick ads. They put down their own vehicles.

*looks at nice car* "That's not my Buick, THAT'S my Buick!" *points to giant SUV*

It appears GM has to start cutting car lines or we are back to the bankruptcy talk again. I believe after autos passed the $50.000 plateau the industry has slowed. Pickups and SUV's are still selling better because it appears you get so much more vehicle for the money and they are a true 12 month use vehicle. I see around me a lot of people would like to buy a new car but 2 income families can not swing it. Got to remember Auto manufactures have to plan 5 years out. And with all this talk about Green initiatives in 12 years. they have to start making decisions and start going all in on Electric. We might witness the end of the personal internal combustion engine!!!

...people are generally stupid and unimaginative. They think they need AWD in winter and the only way to do so is with a F-350 diesel. People have one kid and all of a sudden need a giant SUV. I dont get it, and I'm glad that I wasnt raised that way.

I agree their entire marketing campaign is cringe worthy (especially the Chevy ones). I change the channel every time I see a GM commercial and I'm a life long GM buyer.

Good point on new car prices. They're simply too high these days and vehicles just depreciate too fast. GM has already decided to go all electric long term (with Cadillac starting first) which is interesting because most people won't care what powers their vehicle as long as they have their crossovers and SUV's. Think how much a electric Escalade/Tahoe/Yukon will cost fully loaded.
