It all depends on who you listen to & none of them may be right. Our local guy this morning said a "weak frint" will pass through on Thursday. That does not sound like a day long event, just passing rain. Definitely won't hurt to pack some rain gear but I don't think any day will be a wash out. We will find ways to have fun no matter what.

Yea, I wouldn't chalk that up to much. These summer days in Florida... Anything under 60% I think of it at a chance of a quick rain. That 90% on Thursday means it will rain but I highly doubt it will be a big storm. We would see the storm already somewhere in the U.S. causing news if that were the case.

I hope that's wrong. I bought a stupid snell helmet, when I already had an open face and a modular helmet for my motorcycle. AND a Sony handycam so the wife could record my Tom Foolery

Dang it! Did someone say the "R" word? That a it , I'm not going. I'm calling the hotel right now and cancel! NOT 😁. To be honest, I'm not going to let a little rain stop me from going to one of the coolest Fest in the US. I'll be bringing rain gear and if it's raining, I'll still be smiling. See you there. Drive safe my friends!

Yep, Ruby, I am staying at my Dads in Glasgow about 30 miles from Beach Bend. I lived there when I was a kid. My parents were organizers of an NCHA convention there. I remember Charley Garvin and his wife. She would bake us cookies and try to keep us company. But a shame, I am sure Sam the Chimp is no longer with us. We had a camp out every year around new years at Beach Bend. 10 Cents to camp a day. 10 cents to enter the park. It was awesome! You must remember that Camping World was started by Charlies Son, David with the first store right at the entry gate of Beach Bend. I remember it fondly.

If I was not clear, Charlie Garvin was the owner, devleoper, and ran the park. The GMs name was Isenburg but lost touch with him, but hung out with his daughter when we were there! This will bring back a lot of memories for me. I have not been there for over 40 years.

appears to be scattered storms (heavy rain) on Thurs, through the mid afternoon. Probably as everyone is arriving. Clearing over night, cooling down, and only small chance of scatters rain on Friday and clearing through the day.
May have a few 'rain breaks' on Friday, but it will not be a wash out, will have plenty of time to get a lot of fun with the cars completed. - per forecast 8/4 8am Lets hope it improves a little more tomorrow. |
