Kind of sad that the 5th gen didn't get a mention in that article. It was huge sales success when GM (Chevy) needed one the most. In fact, I remember reading an article in 2009 that had stated that although the volt was being touted by the media as GM's savior, its real success was going to be determined by the Camaro and Cruze (which did get acknowledged).

Look at the other link I posted. Several 5th gens on that list. But I agree, the Camaro was probably the 2nd biggest factor in saving GM. There are some cool cars in that article though.

I got to the '53 Corvette and stopped. That's not a car that made Chevy in my opinion so I question the criteria the creators of the list used. I would agree the Corvette as a model certainly did, but not the '53, with its V6, poor ergonomics even by early '50s standards, and vaguely effeminate styling (hey, that's according to contemporary pundits). Starting in '55 it helped shape Chevy but not before.

The 2014 Stingray made Chevrolet? The car has been out less than a quarter and it made the company? The 1953 Corvette was a first in design for GM - fiberglass, curved raked safety glass, tuned independent front suspension, and triple carbs on the blue flame six cylinder. The real Corvette did not start to shine until 55 or 56 imho.
