Drake Muscle Car Dive Planes (pics)

Figured I would post pictures as not many have these. The color out of the box doesn’t match well if you have the satin 1LE black on everything like I do, it’s closer to a flat. So I painted them with Spray Max Hot Rod Satin (which is awesome btw awesome match but not cheap). It’s a two part in a spray can.

They are held in place with two strips of 3M VHB and a bracket in the back. Seem to be pretty sturdy but I don’t know if I would trust it over 100mph+. My plan is to decide if I want to keep these “forever” as if I do I’ll put a few rivets in to hold for the 130mph pulls. I’m really liking them, but I’m not going to punch holes in my front fascia until I get a little more time with the look as it is more aggressive. I have an Anderson composite zl1 1LE spoiler coming this week so curious to see how the combo will look together.

I'm not a Dive Plane person, but what you did is very well done on your 2019 SS...

Very nice!

If you follow the below link to post #12 you'll see how I riveted mine on and they held up to 160+ on the track recently.

I think in the 2nd pic you can see there is actually more room then what it looks like in the 1st pic.

It’s the angle but it is still tight have to be careful. It’s up in the air so I have it’s more centered than usual. I usually hug the wall with plenty of room in the middle. With kids thank god for minivans has probably saved a door ding or two lol.

Awesome. That’s my plan as well, maybe the tape would hold idk but it makes me nervous. If it let go at high speed it could scratch things up in short order. I haven’t pushed it any higher than 75mph so far. And my gut told me that was cutting it close. I could be wrong it may be fine, but I don’t want to be the Guinea pig lol.

Yeah after a few highway pulls it was obvious to me the tape wasn't going to hold at triple digit speeds on the track. I figured a few small holes was easier to fix then the tape coming off and the bolt/nut holding on a beating my fender to death.
