I don't because I use the exit setting for the seat. The seat always moves back and down when I stop the car. Allows more room / less friction on bolster. It the only way to maintain those Recaros, with exception of losing 30 lbs

Assuming you wear jeans mostly?

Edit: I'll take a pick later and show 6K miles worth of wear on mine (whatever that translates to on exit and entries).

Have not seen that issue with normal wear. However, with these cars you really have to practice the "sit and spin". Stand with your back to the door opening, sit and simultaneously lean/fall back so your can lands squarely into the seat bottom, pick up your legs and spin to the right so you face forward. If you try to just kamikaze yourself into the seats by putting one leg in and "falling" into place, you are beating the hell out of the bolsters and damage/creasing will occur much faster as your back and thighs are just mashing across the side bolsters.

I do that whenever I got the chance, however sometimes I am parked at tight spaces so I do rub the sided with my back! Not so sure about the leather quality though, but I think adding a lining there could've protected the edge.

Mine shows the wrinkles a tad on the left side, but none of that, I’ve got a little over 35k miles on mine since December 2016

I put my left hand over that area so any rubbing is on my hand instead of the seat.

I avoid leaning/smashing the boosters as much as possible. I like my seats looking as new as possible.

I never park next to anyone so I can swing the door completely open. I know this doesn’t sound nice but no one over 230lbs gets in my car.

A good auto leather repair guy can patch and airbrush the damage with undetectable results for less than $200. Make sure you find someone that specializes in auto leather repair only. Some are even mobile...

This is a great idea...have to try it.

With that said, I have 1600 miles and can see minor of wearing already. I intentionally wear sweatpants or shorts without exposed rear pockets. I also adjust the seat for exit / entry and do the spin and exit. I think it just the nature of the beast. If it wears to the point of annoyance, I’ll buy a new seat. Same goes for the steering wheel.

This is not normal. I have never had a seat look like that.
