center stripe satin finish cleaning?
Hey all...
I just took delivery of a '19 SS with a center black satin stripe on hood and trunk deck lid. I am very much into detailing my cars, this is the first I have with a satin finish on a part of a car. How do you detail that? Can you protect that with wax? I have waxed my car already, but I didn't wax the stripe. I was hoping some owners of 1LE's would offer some input as the whole hood is a satin finish on those. Thanks for your time. This is my first post. Love my new ride! |

There are products for matte surfaces. Chemical Guys has several. I have tested most detailing products on matte vinyl. The only products that left marks on the vinyl for me were wax, polish and SiO2 spray on/spray off sealants.
Glass cleaner, detail spray, all purpose cleaner, etc all worked fine on my test piece of vinyl. I published this test on the Autogeek forum. I may try to find the link. *Your results may vary. Always test in a small inconspicuous spot first if you can.
