The shudder became worse and more noticeable on the way to the shop when the car was in 4 cyl mode and I was giving it light throttle. They confirmed that I do have the TC shudder and are doing the flush with the new fluid on the car. It won't be done until tomorrow morning as they are backed up. The service tech I spoke too said this new fluid is a guaranteed fix. Yeah, we will see I guess. To be honest, I have never been much of a believer in miracle in a bottle fixes. For what its worth, my car is a late build 18. Built in 6-18. This really stinks that the problem has been going on for so long and has affected so many GM vehicles.
Good to hear they detected the shudder and are flushing/filling. Make sure that they do a TCM reprogram/relearn, that helps a great deal as well. Yeah as far the "guaranteed fix", I would take that with a grain of salt, but I am too hopefully, but only time and mileage will tell. Make sure you use the Range when you get it back, that is what made sure to do right away, I am hoping that the lack of AFM will help keep the shudder away.

Got the car back today. They did the flush with the new fluid. I checked my copy of the paperwork and the TSB and part number for the fluid were correct for the latest fix. Just to test, I drove the car for 10 miles without my range plugged in. I didn't feel any shudder in either 4 or 8 cyl mode. I plugged my range back in and drove some more and for now it looks like the shudder is gone. Fingers crossed.

Good deal! Yeah I haven't uncrossed my fingers since I picked mine up a few weeks ago.

I think it is too early to tell. The new fluid has not been out very long. Gonna take more people getting the new flush and then time and miles to tell for sure. To be honest, I have my doubts but I certainly hope it is the "fix."

My 2LT has a slight "rumble" feeling when the RPM is at about 1250-1400 and I keep my foot on the gas. If I go above or below that RPM, then it stops.

when it was new, I'd have the hard shifts immediately after starting it when it was cold out.

I don't know if this vibration I'm feeling is the real "A8 shudder" problem or not.

Does anyone know if this "new" flush will cost us? or will it be covered under the warranty since its a Chevy issue.

Of course it's a warranty issue. The reason the service dept will want to reproduce and have valid picoscope results is in order to account it as warranty work.

If you are still under powertrain warranty, then yes...or if you had transmission issues brought in to the dealer and documented befor the expiration of the powertrain warranty.

Has anyone else noticed a significant decrease in power / difference in shift points since the "temporary fix" with the flush and repogram? I don't have any shudder any more but I know my car isn't driving the way it used to before I took it in.

No, but I do notice that the rear breaks loose easier, probably because before the TC was all screwed up locking/unlocking not correctly.

I dropped my car off Thursday at the dealership, 8000 miles. When I described the shudder, the guy told me to leave the car, it needs new fluid. He told me that high heat/humidity environments cause the fluid to absorb water and eat torque converters. Glad it's under warranty.

New guy by the way, I like the forums, reminds me of my old Modular Fords days. Recent convertee to Camaros...
