Had given up looking for the update, and haven't used AA for a while. Plugged it in yesterday and was greeted with the new version. Still wish there was a visual weather app that shows hourly and daily forecasts.

That's the built in one that my 2016 does not have. Good try though.

Sorry man, just tried to cheer you up a bit. Thought you had the factory nav but maybe didn't know about the weather app. It's such a simple thing I'm surprised if there weren't several of them for AA.

All,

A week or two ago, the latest Android 9 and 10 OS updates caused trouble using voice commands with TETHERED (USB cable) Android Auto. It's been really frustrating, but it appears there is now a temp-fix...

If your tethered Android Auto is having trouble recognizing and executing your voice commands for messaging and navigation, uninstall all updates to your Google app (leaving just the core app/stub) and turn off auto-update in the Play Store. Now my Android Auto is working properly again!

I have an LG V40 THINQ running Android 9.

Eventually, they'll fix it and we can update the Google app again. So far, no adverse impact to downgrading my Google app. Will update here if I discover anything.

And PowerAmp and Audible. Can you add other Android apps to the latest headunits?

I'm not talking about apps that are accessible directly via the OEM head unit. What I mean is that any Android Auto compatible app that is installed on your Android phone will appear on the head unit screen (unless you remove it using the customization menu option).

So, if PowerAmp and Audible are compatible, you can use them on your head unit screen.

I got curious what else was out there, so here is a link to all the Android Auto capatible apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/c...cbe4&jsmode=du

Most are just various radio stations across the country, so if your out of town, you can listen to your favorite hometown radio station.
But a couple were interesting like Scanner Radio.

I came up with another scenario and I was wondering if anyone had tested this.
I don't like the fact that you have to be tethered to use AA for navigation and whatnot even though the car allows for you to sync two phones to BT simultaniously. So I was wondering if anyone had gotten a separate USB BT receiver, plugged it is to the tethered port and connect to that BT. That would give you the full range of options and still be completely wireless. At least that's how I hope it would work.
