TH400 Swap W/Pictures

I dont get on the forums much anymore but have been asked by a few to start a thread on my th400 swap from a 8l90 A8.

Start off car is a front mount large frame turbo s476/92

Prior to port injection and holley hi ram out the hood lol

Made great power till i got greedy and popped the motor, so am doing a built motor and decided to go ahead and do the 400 swap over the winter.

Transmission is at a builder getting built

Reverse Manual Valve Body
Trans Brake
Ultra Bell Bell Housing
Circle D Converter

Heres the 8 Speed Next to its replacement

Had to build a bracket to bring the front of the new Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter up an inch and the rear up 2 inches.

Bracket Bolts to the factory 4 bolts of factory shifter

Will post more updates on the swap as soon as i have the transmission back from the builder.

Yes sir. Once everything on my builds i did was documented on a forum and I’m trying to make a comeback on that. What does everyone use for photo hosting? Cause photobucket isn’t working well for me anymore

Honestly I just upload them from my laptop. Is that a bad idea? And happy to see the thread.

Nice. What flywheel do you plan on using? I've put glides in LS cars before, any idea if the LT uses the same parts? The last one that I did used a Hughes LSx flywheel and a spacer for the converter snout.

Chris at circle d is building the converter to adapt to the factory flywheel.

As far as gearing. Will stick with the 2.77 until i do a 9” unless i come across a 3.73 diff reasonable
