ZL1 isn't a bad looking car and has an "aggressive" appearance but it kind of fell into the wide open mouth front end shared by several different manufacturers. Yes, it has purpose, (mostly for cooling) and most new cars of the performance ilk have followed suit. The look seems to be the flavor of the day.
I'm personally quite fond of most newer domestic performers regardless of brand. Ford actually made a smart move with their horsepower number. Chevy might consider getting on the band wagon very quickly. Design is key and if power is a goal it has to be considered in the design. Keep in mind that rpm's win races. Dodge is well aware of their weight disadvantage but don't think for a minute they aren't working on a lighter car to accompany their power. They've had years to develop a car and are overdue for a styling change.
I'm not particularly excited about the truck style fender flares on their Challenger but man those cars are quick on the drag strip.
Great day to be alive for sure. While at the Chevy dealer the other day the salesman said they get adm on the ZR1. Point being, if the availability of a car is limited, it is likely someone is going to bid a bit higher to own it.

I like the way the car looks, a little more in your face over the ZL1 that's for sure.
For me price is everything. What will MSRP be before the ADM. Besides that I look at fun per dollar. no secret, most of us paid 58k on average for our A10's. So will the GT500 come in at 61,999, well that's something to think about. If the base comes in at 69k PLUS well its a no brainer for ME. I'm not paying 10k more for a gt500, plus ADM. 100 hp isn't worth 10k+ to ME.

I agree. The Mustang6g argue that the Camaro is ugly. They can't argue that the GT350R outperforms the ZL1, because it doesn't. So they say stuff like, "I can't see out of the back window", or "it has a toilet seat for a hood". Or "I feel like I am sitting in the ZL1" where the stang you are sitting on top and have better viability. They don't mention that the ZL1 is almost 2 inches shorter with a lower center of gravity.

Missing the GT350 fenders removes the well engineered airflow and brake cooling that provided. Plus it looked very cool. Why do that except to save money?
I dunno. I don't analyze it like that. I can't say without the test data in front of me that having vents or not having vents makes X amount of difference in the wind tunnel or on the track. I just know that the fender vents on the GT350 make it more model specific and unique. I would like to think that if there was a great difference then Ford Engineers would have the vents on the GT500.

Most I have seen say $75-85k MSRP add track pack plus ADM and it’s well over $100k.

I can see the greedy Cali dealers asking $200k+ for this car in the first year and someone will pay it.

Sorry for the chaps that bought the 350R

Don't feel sorry for R owners. Two completely different driving experiences. I can only speak for myself since I bought an 18 R...below msrp btw. The most balanced driving experience I've ever had or may ever have. The Voodoo sings above 4k on the way to past 8k. Too bad you'll never experience that. The car is a 530 HP surgical scalpel on the road. The highest naturally aspirated HP motor Ford has ever produced. I have 1 of 633 2018 R's. 1 of 2132 R's produced from 2015-18. 1 of 54 Black stripe delete R's. I like it's exclusivity as well. I like the way Ford treated me after the purchase. Owners Kit, Track Attack experience. The R is a special car. I can't see myself letting go of it. My next purchase would have to be in addition to the R.

Fun Factoid: My neighbor has a 17 Z06 A8. He did not go to his offered driving school for it. He regretted it looking back so I offered to take him along on my Track Attack experience. He went and ragged the heck out of a 5.0 while I did the same with a 350. He had so much fun with that 5.0 he bought a 19 Bullitt a week after we got back. So he has a Z06 and a Bullitt next to each other in the garage. I asked him why not a camaro? He simply said he's too short( he's about 5'8") for the camaro and it feels like a dungeon. He never thought much of Ford but the Track Attack with that 5.0 really opened his eyes.

Well post up that link to the add. $60k for a new GT350R isn't happening. That's a well used price. I don't care if it's a 2018 left over. There are used GT350R with 3k miles on them in the area advertised for $65k tho.

Good on ya. Keep moving around to other car sites convincing them how glorious and awe inspiring your voodoo is.

No doubt the voodoo sounds sweet.

Do you think you'll (or anyone) ever hit 200k...or even 100k miles "singing past 8k rpm's?"

FYI you replied to a ZL1 owner with an additional 120HP and over 200TQ that bests the Gt350R on any drag strip and most road courses. It’s too bad you’ll never experience the real feel but could get a good visual from behind looking out your GT350R windshield. But you have the car you want and that’s what really matters.

I want to know why don't you know the HP of your own car. It is 526 not 530. Ford treated me badly and was going to void my warranty if I had a dealer install coolers for my Tech Pack.

Who gives a shit about the Track Attack. You don't even get to drive a GT350. And their stupid miniature crankshaft they sent me. They gave me the shaft alright, for the 3rd time. So I am done with Ford.

I do. 526 is the official rated HP of the regular 350. The R has a tad more just that Ford didn't go thru the motions certifying the R engine officially since they are so close. So yes, officially my engine my HP rating is 526. But with lighter rotational mass around it, it's just a tad quicker than the regular GT350. Gestimates have been around 530+. So ****in sue me.

And you're dead wrong about Track Attack. GT350 owners drove a GT350 at the school. My neighbor was a "driving guest". He was issued a 5.0 for the school. Guess you didn't go.

There's likely more to your story than you're letting on. I've seen and read about GT350 owners getting warranty claims approved for engines with full exhaust and tunes. And really don't care about your plight. Shoulda bought the right car the first time. Like I did.

ZL1's are a dime a dozen. If I wanted one, I'd have one.

Edit: Probably the ZL1LE. But it's a face only a mother could love tho...

Lol. Do you think I'll care if it gets to 100k? Do you think that was the mindset I was in when I bought it? Lol.

Funny, because I see about the same amount of GT350s and ZL1s in my area, which isn’t often for neither cars.

Have you watched this woman’s videos? You can learn a thing or two from her.
