Why would you need to locate your car unless you had memory disorder. Then I'd understand seems like a waste of money.

Apple Maps and Google Maps have features where you can mark your cars location for free. But i'm wondering if this person is wondering where his car is because somebody else may be driving it?

I know this sounds bad, we went out on a hard night of drinking and we could not find where my buddy parked his Corvette the next day. Took 1/2 a day to locate it.... Lol That's the only time I could think of where the car locater would have helped.

I have everything except the LTE Hotspot and pay $37.44/month.

you guys are brutal. would one of those gps lost key ring thingies work?
on-star is a brilliant but obvious ploy to create a stream of revenue. Those dumb buttons are right on the surface you use to flip the night time mirror. Seriously. is low jack still around? also I think there is a 3rd party remote car starter that offers an add-on feature for car finder. All cost centers.

OP, use whatever app/service gives you peace of mind. If OnStar were such a waste of money, nobody would have it.

but having checked the just locator subscription is only 14.99 so it may be a reasonable price for that purpose.

I do know that using family finder on t-mobile cell phone is very general and gives nowhere near pin point accuracy. Sometime's don't get the memo if kid's after school game is home or away. kind neat for that type of stuff.

For me, the theft protection, emergency assistance and pinpoint location accuracy are worth the cost. I like the peace of mind

It comes in very handy, I won't lie. You can start your car while sitting in your bed (great for Canadian weather), check fuel status, tire pressure, etc.
It's worth the price.

I use it. Something like $15 a month. When I dropped my car off to have to rear bumper replaced, I set a notification up to alert me if it left the small area where it was being worked on. Peace of mind.
