Thanks Heath!

I was only thinking 2" based on what PRAY's results have been since I'm copying his bolt on build with these mods:

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...highlight=pray

Since I don't have the MSD on mine, there shouldn't be a torque dip. (fingers crossed).

Very welcome. I love my 1 7/8 Kooks!

I'm definitely doing wheels and tires first I want to burn off the goodyears first so that the Fifty wheels can get winter/all seasons on them. I've been pricing out lightweight wheels too The stock tires have too much meat left on them yet to just throw them out since I've only put about 6k on them in daily driving.

cant wait to race again even without the new wider tire setup! what offsets are you running for your 19's? i'd like to make sure whatever wheels i get will clear the 6 piston brake upgrade.

They fit really nice. Didn't have to remove the starter or engine mount.

Some updates:

-Replaced the GM intake with a Rotofab dry.
-Made the MAF changes in HP Tuners.
-Car runs better and will be dynoed May 6th.

I also got to do a weekend of autocross with the car. Saturday was a practice day and i was able to get 9 runs in. Improved throughout the day but the car is traction limited with the factory SS tires.

Sunday, I drove like crap and didn't post anything worth sharing.

Here's a video from Saturday, not one of my quicker runs but I was running low on battery.

https://youtu.be/R3HjZf7XU_A

Thanks to Chubbs, I'll be putting in a DSC Sport controller on the car next to help with traction.

Wheels/Tires and some 6 piston brakes are definitely on my list.

Initial impressions of the DSC Sport controller:

Installed and taken through it's paces on some backroads for 30 minutes.

Install:

Easy enough, unplug the factory controller, slide it out, then slide in the DSC and plug it in. However:

The box does not slide in and fit like the GM MRC unit. It won't fit beyond 1/3rd of the way into the tray due to the tray design. The tray will need to be trimmed/dremeled for the width of the DSC controller to completely slide into it. I opted to lay it flat as best I could and use a screw to secure it with the amp on top. Maybe this is a 2SS Bose amp/tray issue that doesn't pop up on other models, I really don't know. More than likely, the same box is used across multiple platforms and just doesn't fit our cars like an OEM designed piece would. The good news is that once connected, it's not going to move around the trunk at all.

No error codes or issues once I got it setup.

Low speed driving:

Every mode is flatter and the chassis doesn't move around over small cracks in the road anymore. The squat and dive from accel and braking is minimized if not gone completely now. Around turns, the vehicle stays a little bit flatter without any moving from hitting seams, cracks, etc. I can drive the car faster than before since it's flatter and more controlled.

High-Speed:

Uh oh. While flat and comfortable 99% of the time, if you hit a large dip or anything that causes the vehicle to go up in the air, expect a pogo effect. I also got the car to exhibit this by going off a drop-off in the pavement from a stop. It crashes almost like a bump stop setting is jacked up a bit too high.

More to come as I autocross the car and get more seat time. Overall, I think this product is an 7/10 due to installation fitment issues and the pogo-effect. It is important to note that I am currently on V2 of the firmware and the V3 offers a bit more on the velocity side with bump stop features. I'll be updating to V3 in the next few days. If that clears up the pogo, then this little box is incredible.

Good feedback to hear as I'm about to buy one of these...

#1 - I heard the physical fitment of the box complaints a couple times now but it seems to be a minor inconvenience at most

#2 - folks have complained about the high speed issues you mentioned and seemed to resolve it by "leveling" the car - HTH

Shoot me a message/email man - it's been too long I'd dig chatting about this stuff and other mods too!

Yeah, the fitment is disappointing considering the price they retail at. For what I paid, it's just in the trunk and forgotten about.

thank you! I'll have to find some flat ground so I can do that. Will do that the same time as I update the firmware.

Absolutely! PM incoming

Update on the DSC Sport controller:

I attempted to reset the ride height on the controller as well as flash the latest firmware (for better velocity control) and the unit would not connect to my laptop. I tried a different driver as well as multiple COM and USB ports and nothing would work with the unit. DSC asked for me to send it back so that they could update it and send me a replacement unit in a couple of weeks when new ones arrive.

Great customer service. I've since mailed it off to them and am running the OEM hardware. The differences are all nuanced but there are a lot of them. The car is definitely not as good at handling now. It's going to be a long 2-3 weeks now that I've gone the other way with this mod. Can honestly say that the DSC Sport controller enhances ride and handling in a very positive way.

Sadly, this car was traded in after the engine had an issue with cylinder #8. I loved driving it so much that I ended up getting another Camaro, but this time a ZL1.
