Front Tags & 6th Gens, Moving to Texas...

If I go without a front tag in Texas, how likely am I to be pulled over?

If I go with a Front Tag, how do you mount it and is there any place it can be installed without taking too much away from the front?

Thanks.

How likely to be pulled over depends on the town/cop more than the state. Here in Illinois from my own experience it's more something that would get tacked on as additional if you got pulled over for something else. Except in the towns surrounding my office lol, they will pull you over for anything which is why my Mustang always had a front plate

I use a front tow hook license plate bracket from ZL1 Addons. Looks great for a car needing a front plate, no holes, and easily installed and removed.

Really depends on the area like shaffe said. My brothers car has been without front plate since he got it and nothing so far which is a bit over a year. Interstates near Houston don’t seem to care but it’s really dependent on the cop.

My pro-tip for Texas. Lived in TX all my life, until recently, and never ran a front plate on any car I have ever owned. When buddies got pulled over it was in the front window, which directs attention to the fact it wasnt on the front of the car. Leave it off, and most of the time you get passed by without a second glance. I got popped once for it, and let off after I showed her "where on this Camaro would a license plate fit?" and it worked.

I always run mine, zip tied on, cause I just dont want the hassle. You run through so many cities, counties and highway patrol in just a short trip.

Just as 1970judge, I’ve lived in TX all my life. Never received a ticket for no front plate. I’ve had a few tickets over the years and only one mentioned it, but mention it was all he did.

Most of the time they just say nice car. Lots of those in blue are enthusiasts and understand/don’t care from my experience.
