Lifetime Warranty
Hi all, need some help.
I have a 2016 1SS that I got last year. I got a lifetime warranty that will cover the factory power train warranty. My question is, is it worth keeping this warranty or would you guys modify your car knowing it will void the warranty? This Lifetime Warranty was free with the purchase of the car. |

Not too tough to read between the lines on this one.
Speaking of which, did you read the contract?

A lifetime warranty is pretty nice insurance, but only you can really answer that question.
What do you want out of your car? Is 455 hp enough; should be for any of us, but for many it’s just too much fun to mod the car, so the warranty becomes irrelevant. I’ve never been able to leave a car stock. |

Had the same offer on mine. You have to meet the maintenance requirements and they have to be performed by an ASE certified tech or something along those lines. Debated getting the base ASE cert to comply with the requirements but I'm too lazy.
I don't have the details on me but I bought from these guys. https://www.dancummins.com/lifetime-...in-protection/

I would really look at the fine print on those "lifetime warranties". I have seen these before and you usually have to have everything serviced through them and you have to hit all the service dates perfectly or they will not honor it. That means every oil change, tire rotation, etc. There are also lots of exclusions and loopholes for the dealer to deny a claim. I have not seen yours, but have looked at other cars that have these around me and I personally don't give them much value. But I also don't usually keep cars more than 5 years.
If your lifetime warranty looks legit and you plan on keeping the car a very long time then it would likely make sense to stay stock. |
