BTR Stage 3 400+ ci Stroker Cam

Can’t find anywhere on the internetnet of anyone running this cam on a 416 stroker setup with heads and e85. Anyone using this cam? Do you like it?

This is what BTR says about that cam in a 416.

"This cam has made 550 rwhp on a 416 using stock LS3 heads and intake. It has been back to back tested on a engine dyno against a much larger camshaft that only gained 10 hp with a Fast intake. The cam timing events allow this cam to be used with square port or cathedral port heads as well as with a Fast intake or Victor Jr. We have dyno sheets available for this cam on all of those combinations. It's a great all around camshaft for a 402-427 cubic inch engine.

With 18 degrees of overlap it has an aggressive sound, but is docile enough to be driven long distance if needed.

This cam can also be used with a large blower like a YSi or F1R, F1X as well as with 250-300 hp nitrous.

Cam specs are 239/254 .624"/.595" 114+3.

Many people think that increased exhaust duration kills mid range torque, but in back to back testing this cam makes more power from 3500 on up compared to cams with less exhaust duration."

Thanks for this, I should have put more details into my original post like you did. I know what the btr site states. I’m looking for anyone that has actually used this cam in their own car and experience with this cam.

oh gotcha. We'll see what others say. I'd expect the real world customers out there have an opinion too. Looks like based on your signature, you have the BTR stage 4 in your current engine and pushing close to 500whp... that's pretty awesome. Any reason why you wouldn't stick with the stage 4 for the new build? I would expect it to perform even better in the stroker. Also, have you called BTR to talk about your build and see what they recommend? Those guys do a ton of R&D and are definitely at or near the top of the list in the LS/LT valve train world. You could also give the other guys like TSP and GPI a call to see what cam specs they recommend to compare to what BTR tells you. All three of those guys know their stuff pretty good.

Best of luck on the build. I'm excited to see how it turns out and what your results are.

Nitrous setup hurt my engine. trashed some lifters, killed the my cam and #5 cylinder lost compression. the stg 4 cam was fun, but i didn't like not having any low end tq or power. Made great peak hp and tq, but the car just wasn't fun to drive. I already have this stroker cam sitting in my garage. i was torn between a 13.5 compression all out n/a setup and decided to go with 10.5 compression and gap the rings for some boost. this cam should be good for my current n/z setup. anything close to the 550whp that they made, i'll be happy. She will also be ready for a procharger when that time comes.

Figure stroked you'll gain 40 Torque and all across the board, use driven racing br30 to do a double break in at least and then some vr30 that's what I did to meet the thousands of miles...I always ditch oil after dyno break in....yes I insisted on a break in just as I do with a cam I pay the extra. I am a daily and don't want to trash things, I don't go corn and wash the oil down and shoot mileage in the foot as its not around here and I daily. I used a mast windage tray that had to be clearance more..not Washers spacing the pan etc.... Having more torque and better power even HP across the board average HP with much milder cam than what I had not stroked with a .639/.623 TSP cam I am very happy with the results for the added torque is what moves you and its all about getting it to the ground..... And I recommend BMR products also and use ls30 driven racing oil, other mods...….use NGK plugs etc...… Good Luck.

Thanks guys! Been slow going back in. Need to get these push rods measured then I’ll have everything I need to get her back together. Hopefully next weekend I’ll be able to drop the engine and trans back down into the car!

I just installed this cam in my 415 Stroker about 15000 miles ago. I havent been over 5k rpm or 50 percent throttle due too injectors but it is a complete monster in my 08 Sierra Denali compared to the 231/239 cam I installed first. All the research most people say it's too big for a daily driver. I can cruise overdrive at 1500 rpm with no bucking. I will post dyno numbers when I get it fine tuned.

Truck Mods

2008 GMC Sierra Denali
-415 Stroker
-BTR 400ci+ stage 3 cam (239/254 .6xx .6xx 114 lsa)
-5 inch intake
-100mm MAS
-102 Throttle Body
-Radially Ported truck intake manifold
-Hand ported L92 heads
-Forged internals
160° Thermostat
25% under drive pully
-3600 Yank Triple Disk converter
-6l80(clutches and few other upgraded parts)
-40k trans cooler
-4.10 locker 14 bolt
-2wd

I have only been pushing it 25-40% throttle daily and it is a blast. Tons of torque to blow tires off with light throttle. I will try and upload a couple videos on YouTube. Search Racks Deep in Google to find my channel. Bunch of mudding videos. I can also make you a couple videos of driving around town or whatever you want. I drive all around in the city everyday working. Any of yall Camaro's wanna get gapped let me know.

Yall need any ATV/SXS aftermarket parts give me a holler. 252-two29-7317. I own Racks Deep Custom Performance in NC.
