Probably a defective DSSV strut. Seems to be quite a few failures reported on the forums recently.

Agreed. I just had my RF strut replaced under warranty for the same issue with 18 months and ~12,000 miles on the car.

I had a bolt work itself loose from inside my right front damper actually. 2020 with 3k miles. After the break in miles mines been mostly a track car.

It made a clunking pretty ugly sound over bumps..I would get it checked out before driving it any more.

The damper was replaced under warranty and the faulty one sent back to the manufacturer.

Mine was brand new. The mechanic said it it didn't even look like it had been bolted together. Oddly enough it was the right front too.

I've also seen the aluminum X brace that shops remove to do headers get loose or bolted back touching parts and making the same noise.
