Trade value and street value are two different things. If you trade you voluntarily lose money. That's not the value of the car lmao which is what you said drops. And since you say it's what people are willing to pay. I know people multiple buying these used at that price. You said the cars drop value so bad. I debated it and I can back it. No one said I'd profit lmfao I said I can get back 9k. This means the car didint drop as bad as you say it did. Not that I profit 9k. So believe what ya want but it is what it is lol. Never knew a person so determined to be right that they ignore the truth. Oh ya I have. Last edited by Coded4SS; 11-11-2020 at 09:17 AM. |

You're right I don't.
I bought my last car from Maryland and shipped it to Texas. Aren't all new cars CARB compliant so someone in Cali could do the same?

I was offered $39.5k for my 17 2SS Convertible 5600 miles. I did not take it I have no plans to sell it I was just seeing what they would offer me for it.

They could do the same. Your still paying CA taxes though and then shipping (or drive it back). It ends up being a grand or two difference or so. A lot of those deals I was searching didint apply to us out of state folk though I'm sure there is places those deals exist.

I saved over $10K on MSRP shopping out of state, shipping was about $900. Worth it in the end, but buying local really is ideal so you can put eyes on the car and test drive etc.

Agreed. Prices out of state are not much of a savings now. I remember a couple years ago, 1LEs were about $39k locally in CA near the end of model year.

I still see a 1LE here and there on Cargurus for around $40K. Sometimes these ads are fake, but this is exactly how I found mine and they honored the online price. $40K https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=284578721 $41.5K: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=281759781 $42K https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=286113688

Carvana can be hit or miss. I sold my 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad 4X4 to them last summer and effectively drove the truck for 13 months for free, and also made $4k on it. Used car values on some vehicles have gone nuts. I thought Carvana overstretched on this one, but they sold it in a week for $2300 over what they gave me for it (and Im sure they made $ on financing as well).
My BMW 430 coupe is in a similar boat. Carvana will pay ~$2500 over the lease buyout on it right now, but the lease is so cheap that its not worth selling it early. |
