Diffuser install help

I tried over and over again to out my diffuser in but it just won't line up. Who should I call do come do it, can a mobile mechanic do it or do I have to have it towed to a body shop? One side the upper diffuser tab isn't sticking through the slot so I can't push it flush, the other side I have the tab sticking through but can't get the sides to pop in. This is waaaaaay harder than I thought, any suggestions?

I would suggest remove the rear bumper from the vehicle if you haven't done so yet.

I have not, but isn't that mainly just to remove the 5 clips?

I just know working on your back under the car and trying to see up inside the bumper isn't very efficient. Being able to properly see what is causing the diffuser to not fit could save a trip to a body guy. Plus you wouldn't have to get the car towed if you can just take the bumper somewhere.

Pop that rear bumper, it should be much easier that way. You already scratched up the diffuser, don't make it worse.

By the way, isn't this an aftermarker diffuser whose fitment might not be perfect?

Sorry you are having problems..I thought I told you in the other tread to take off the rear bumper cover? ...much easier. The exhaust won't be in the way..get a much easier view to line up the tabs. Also the bumper cover is a bit top heavy when take it off .make sure you have a clean soft blanket so it don't tip over and accidentally damage / Scratch the bumper cover
There is also a wiring harness to the back up camera you will have to disconnect.

I just figured since the oem diffuser is already off that removing the bumper wouldn't help very much, but it must, since everyone is saying to do it, lol. I thought taking the bumper off was much more involved, now I realize it's only like 6 more bolts, thanks for the tips!

Alright, I popped the bumper off, still didn't help, here's the issues. The center tabs that go along the diffuser all fit but the sides, the snap in tabs are too wide preventing the diffuser to sit flush on the sides. I tried trimming them down to fit with no luck. Then the side two tabs, they clip in but won't hold flush causing a big gap in it. Nothing is there to hold if flush, so I'm taking it down to a bodyshop tomorrow in hopes they can modify it to work. The craftsmanship on this ikon diffuser is terrible, and I highly recommend not to do it yourself. I'm praying the body shop can do it. I'll update as soon as I can, untill then I don't recommend buying this diffuser. Such a shame cause It looks so cool!

I can push the side flush, so those tabs aren't to big for the slots, just nothing to hold it flush.

What if you drilled a hole and put small bolt to hold the clips flush ?

Dang that sucks man. This is reason number 1 why I don't buy aftermarket body parts anymore unless it's a quality company with good reviews. Bumpers, spoilers, suppliers, hoods. You name it and I've not found a good aftermarket manufacturer. I'm hoping my Anderson composites zl1 spoiler finally makes my bad luck turn.

There is no way to put a bolt in to hold it flush, I already tried that, great idea though, the tabs are only a 1/4" wide on the sides. So drilling a hole would weaken the tab even more, zip ties don't work either. I was thinking maybe more of those metal clips that hold the tabs in the center, but they aren't wide enough to go over the tabs.

Ikon responded saying they had a bad batch go out and is willing to help compensate for taking it to a body shop which is really cool!. My problem is that I ordered it from ebay, so idk how it's gonna play out, ill keep you guys updated. Ikon said they had personally installed a couple of these and they went on with no issues. Update, ikon said if I had bought directly through them they would've been glad to help with partial refund or replacement, so even though I got a bad batch, they seemed nice and wanted to make it right.
