Best LT engine builder in Texas

I am trying to decide on my next car and am leaning towards staying NA. I have had a gen 6 ZL1 and an SS 1LE as well as a couple gen 5 Z28s- the last one was a 680 hp monster. That car kind of spoiled me and I miss it- should have held on to it. While a supercharger is the easiest and most cost effective way to add power, I really liked the way that big NA motor pur down the power. I don’t know if a cam, heads and headers on an LT1 can produce over 600 HP so I am exploring the idea of going a step further and boring it out and increasing the displacement. Would like to hear from anyone who has done this and if you are happy with the results? I am worried that if I move past heads, can, exhaust and a tune, that the price of the work will jump exponentially
Also, does anyone have experience with an engine builder in Texas?

Thanks in advance

As far as Engine Builders go, I would say LME in Houston is probably one of the better LT motor builders in the country, not just Texas. I have one of their LT1 forged short blocks and couldn't be happier.

How much did you spend on just the motor and what’s the total cost of your build? Do you ever track it (road course) and if so, any issues with overheating?

If you want big power NA, you should look in your own backyard:

Building an LT1/LT4 is not an inexpensive deal, by any stretch of the imagination. I have not tracked the car, as it was just done a couple months ago and I haven't driven it much due to cold and an extremely wet winter we have had in Middle TN this winter. For a build such as mine, if you are having somebody else do the work, you can expect to spend north of $20k, including the new forged short block, heads, cam, labor, supercharger, ect. There are certainly less expensive ways to get there, but this is the route I chose.

They are a corporate sponsor for the LSC Camaro club and have built some awesome big block NA engines for many road racing track cars.

I don't know the costs but you are right. to go past heads/cam/bolt ons will get a lot more expensive. that being said there are some really fast na combos around here and I don't think any of them have anything more than heads/cam/bolt ons. not sure if any of those guys are breaking 600hp but I don't think they are too far away.
