This is my favorite drag racing, can't wait until Tulsa Raceway Park has thier Radial Tire race in May. I'll be in the pits wrenching on some X275 cars. I'll be racing my junk in Open Comp.

I don't think people really appreciate how fast these cars are going. Too many people look at it as it's only 1/8th mile and turn a blind eye. IMO this is the pinnacle of nonpro level of racing. These cars are running as fast as most of the Pro Mods out there with a 315 size DRAG RADIAL with no wheelie bars, a lot on stock wheel base cars.

What a wicked pass, those twins were making some real power and the chassis worked perfect, never packed the front tires, just launched like crazy.

This, how do they keep the front end down like that the whole pass?

Lots of chassis tuning & very expensive coilover shocks. They even have shock travel sensors so they can monitor & make adjustments.

Mcmillion, its all in the chassis setup and wheelie bar height. Obviously the twin turbo setup, converter and boost on the launch. They may keep the boost level down for the first 60 ft, but after that its all raw hp and that's why you see the big mph. A pro stock car with 1500 rwhp runs low 6.50s@212 1/4 mile, these guys just ran 3.62@ 217 in the 1/8 mile in a door car and thats probably a 5.60@255 in a 1/4 mile which is similar to a pro mod on a big tire and they did it on a 275 drag radial. That's sick.

Wheelie bars are permitted, but RVW cars don't use them because it adds weight.
They use a 315 drag radial tire in RVW & a 275 drag radial in X275 class.
