I’m more talking about the 95% of people who are full bolt on and at different power level under 500whp & those over 500hp.

I see everyone running 28” but have heard pretty good debates on the reason a 26” could be quicker keeping the car in the power. I’ll find out first hand as I went 26” and have a 28” to try from a buddy as well
I know...lol
But your right about the 28 vs 26 tires, JMO I think the 26 would be faster on a stock to mild build. I could see the LT4 power level & higher benefit from a 28" tire.

I just can't get used to the wheel height difference, just doesn't look good to me.
I'm old so I like same size wheels & will never own a set of black wheels...lol

Looks fresh as hell to me & I’ll never own a set of Chrome wheels.
It’s good they make options for everyone

Yes, it's good they make any color wheel you want today. Just not for me.
You do know it is WAY less expensive to make black wheels vs a beautiful billet CNC polished aluminum wheel. The industry is making a killing off everyone that buys or owns black wheels. Paint & powder coating is super cheap. I'll be dead before I put anything but polished aluminum wheels on any car I own. Okay I'm off my soap box now, carry on.

I Not a fan of the black wheels either, that’s why mine are gunmetal gray.

The price of the fancy Welds is just ridiculous unless you’re pushing big HP & actually need beadlocks or just have the extra $ to spend.

Only reason why I run 28" is because i dont want to give in that much to drag racing and want to stay with my 20's up front... also an alignment is needed everytime you touch the front (height and width) dont see it viable for me on something i do every now and then... if i had skinnes, then i would also be on 26"

Also 28" look so much better on these cars

any reason why you went in such a narrow setup? 275/40/17 i/o the usual 315/35/17??? I would think the wider 315 would grab better.

I picked the setup based on the tires combo that will hook without going overboard or rubbing & based on power level/gearing & I want to run full Drag Pack vs. trying to keep the 20” fronts on. I’m not a fan of the possible 100mph sway if it happens from running the softer rear

My idea is that at anything Sub 600whp on the 6M I’d be hurting my times by running a larger tire and kicking myself out of the target RPM range.

Also I absolutely wanted to keep the front/rears matching in size and this is about as perfect as it gets when you use the tire calculator.

On the street it hooks pretty well so imagine it on a prepared track.

Too bad we’re not closer as I’d love to see some of the 28” tire guys try this set up to see if it changes their ET/MPH for the better. I agree the 28” fills the space up better BUT after having this set up I’m in love with the look keeping the car low to the ground

I do like the way your car sits 2" lower to the ground with your new set-up.

You ask so I think the tires just look to short. I like them close to the fender well or tucked. Mine tuck when I launch my car and that shows great weight transfer. Hope your hooks good. You might consider lowering it to tighten it up.

(18ss376 you were on that 2 step a long time. They shake and break stuff all the time.)

I do think it’s a perfect combo so these next few track days will give me data

Ehhhh I think it looks great and I’m also only concerned with function at my HP levels vs. a fat tire filling up the well. I leave it in Touring mode to keep it as soft as possible being manual so I don’t think lowering it is for me

Time will tell when I run some times and see where I am with 60 foot & a few other things when crossing the 1320
