VORSHLAG CAMBER PLATES FOR 6TH GEN
terry fair from vorshlag posted up some new camber plates for the 6th gen camaro he is working on made in house in texas. looks promising and price is pretty fair at about $300-400 a set.

Honestly all Vorshlag has to do is copy the Moreno plates and hit Print. It seems that Gen5DIY gave up on them.

he has a set but never even installed them yet lol

There was only one person that had a problem with the Moreno plates, and it turned out he installed them wrong. He admitted it but the internet had already dropped the gavel. Mine have been perfect to-date after plenty of track and salty winter abuse.

When i originally had terry look at the design of the moreno, he said something along the lines of the spherical bearings will only last a few weeks since they reuse the OEM spring perch. They were trying hard to come up with a setup that THEY can supply the upper spring perch for, not reuse stock, get rid of some rubber and not have the customer have to modify (drill holes) in anything OEM.
Here was Vorshlags post about their new plates "After our shop move we added a 3rd engineer to the staff and are now busy designing new parts every week. It is past time for a Vorshlag 6th gen Camaro camber-caster plate, so I figured I'd share news about an upcoming prototype... The GM Alpha chassis' cast aluminum strut tower was a challenge, with internal ribbing that could limit camber plate travel. We have come up with a design that matches the OEM top mount + perch height (to neither raise nor lower the ride height) and uses the OEM spring isolator, while still giving 2.5 degrees of negative camber adjustment. While there are ways to tilt the strut relative to the spindle and to reach almost -2 deg of camber, doing this eats up lots of inside wheel room. Our tester will be installing these on a 1LE with stock suspension, that is tracked weekly but also daily driven. This design gets camber and caster adjustment plus ADDS wheel room, while removing a fist sized lump of rubber from the suspension that deflects under lateral loading. The same camber plate design can be used with 2.25", 60mm, or 2.5" coilover springs as well." |
