How to: determine whether to go resonated or non-resonated Touring Edition.
Non-resonated: if you're looking for the perfect, drone-free soundtrack that's aggressive when you want it and civil when you need it, and you're running factory headers, this is your dose of steel. How is it with PLPs and factory headers? PLPs simply increase the volume if your lookin' for more. Resonated: if you're expecting to apply aftermarket headers, resonated may be your route to take if you are wanting to soften the edge of the enhancements up stream. Worried about performance impacts by running resonated? Don't. They're straight-through and do not hinder flow. Intending on keeping the stock headers and catalysts for the foreseeable future, but may change to LTHs later in life? No worries, we have conversion kits available for those wanting to switch from non-resonated to resonated, or vice versa in the event you want to pipe up even further. More interested in equipping the Track Edition over the Touring Edition because raw and rowdy are your speed? That's cool, too. You can apply everything above to the Track Edition. Why? Because the Touring and Track Editions sound identical from the outside of the vehicle. The magic happens within the cabin -- Touring Edition = no drone. Track Edition = driver may be subject to drone. Questions? I'm here |

Josh I have the non-resinated touring cat back system with stock headers and secondary cats. But I plan on switching to long tube headers and secondary cat deletes in the future. I will try to get some sound clips, but I have to honestly say I think it sounds way better in person.

When I get back to the states, I’ll install my cat back and post a video. I’m sure it’ll be quite loud, but hopefully not too loud.

Here's a quick clip of the AWE Touring, non-resonated cat back on my 2018 1LE. It's FBO w/ Kooks 2" long tubes w/o cats. It's a super casual rowing of the gears in my neighborhood using active rev match.

That exhaust is super loud but without resonators and any Cats its going to be loud! I just purchased the AWE catback Touring with resonators and have Kooks headers with green cats. I would imagine it will be quite a bit les loud than the one in the video. Sounds good a little too loud for my tastes but what ever turns ya on! Thats why they make them all different!

just purchased mine.. after watching few videos i'm getting a little scared lol ..
i have Texas Speed Catless headers with x-Pipe bolting up to AWE Touring Exhaust. i'm reallyyyyyyyyy hoping it doesn't drone or is crazy (unbearably) loud. i know going catted , resonated would have been my best bet, but i guess i took the risk.. i don't even think i can plug in the AWE resonator pipe to Texas Speed headers, unless i buy the whole new mid pipe. should find out by next Saturday how she sounds under normal driving conditions Last edited by cmeJATT; 02-18-2019 at 09:36 AM. |

I am now. I had it installed about 2 months ago and at first it was eye-opening to say the least! Now that I have had it awhile I love it. It does drone a bit around 80 mph in 6th gear, but that's all, not nearly as bad as previous flowmaster systems I have owned. |
