Yokohama A052 for 18" wheels
I picked up a set of 265/40/18 Yokohama A052 tires for my V6 1LE and did my first autocross on them at a San Diego SCCA event on Sunday. They seemed to be very good. Except for karts and mod cars, I think I had the second fastest time of the day. Even running in ESP with a stock V6 with only 18x10 wheels and those tires, I still PAX'd 15th. TTOD and a better PAX felt within reach, if I drove better. A street class ND Miata ran just .2 slower than me, so that is humbling. Damn Miatas 😂
These A052 Yoks have 200TW, but they felt grippier than the various competitive street class tires I've driven before. Unfortunately, this tire isn't available in 19" or 20" sizes, and it is pricey but not as bad as the P Zero Trofeo R. The 295/35/18 size might be better for most of you running 18". |

Seems like a good tire, wish it was SCCA legal for competition. Tread depth has to be 7/32 min and those are 6/32

It's worth considering for SP competitors who don't want to go full Hoosier.
