You’ve bought a lot of cars from the dealer and they charged you a $1,000 non refundable deposit. I would have told him to find a different sucker! I pay no deposit on any vehicle I order. You might check, because non refundable deposits are not legal in most States.

I talked with two of the dealers that I have my order in with yesterday. And neither has been giving any allocations for camaros at all so far. One stated that he believes that they are starting with the CE models first and then the ZL1s and will continue to work their way down the trim levels. Essentially trying to sell the highest profit camaro trim levels first.

Yea, you know I’ve waited since 2021 to finally get that ss 1le cause I knew it would be the year, so walking into the dealership that day it felt exciting and surreal that I just didn’t really even think about the non refundable part. So does that mean if my car doesn’t get produced I still can’t get it back? Or are there some exceptions?

If the dealer can’t deliver what you ordered, you should get a full refund. A quick call to your state’s attorney general’s office will get you the real answers about “nonrefundable” deposits.

Has anyone been able to place an order for a '24 ZL1 1LE?

My dealer tried to submit one since my '23 order was not picked up and the ordering system is not allowing him to.

Check with your dealership specifically the person who manages allocations and orders (not the sales rep).

I’m sure you’ll get your deposit back if your exact order never gets picked up. That being said because you placed a deposit before getting an allocation for your order, you have now tethered yourself to that dealer. What I mean by this is you now can’t place orders with other dealers unless you don’t care about potentially losing the deposit as in one of the other dealers gets an allocation before the dealer you have a deposit with and you cancel your order with the dealer you have a deposit with (before final 2024 allocations are given).

That's the reason that I would not place an order with a dealer that is non-refundable. This is Covid time anymore. No reason for dealers to have non-refundable monies attached to orders.

I just picked up my 2023 Camaro 2ss from a dealer I've never bought from and they did not accept any deposit from me and I didn't pay a dime until I picked up the car. I also put an order in from another dealership at the same time and they did not charge me a deposit either.

My dealer told me today they got an allocation last week but not sure what the restrictions are yet. Hopefully this week then I will find out what the allocation is for. Hopefully a 2SS CE but will be happy with a 2SS.

If they recieved an allocacion last week (thurs) they would have to had the build in by last Saturday I do believe.

Went in to the local dealership on Friday morning asking about a ZL1 allocation. They said they had one but no 1LE's. I placed the order.
