For $525 I would want to see a flow bench comparison vs the stock intake.
And, as others have mentioned, you would need ECM reprogramming to take advantage of any improvement in airflow.

Flowbenching it isn't going to really tell you much since you'd have to say the bottleneck on airflow is the intake for the numbers to matter, which I doubt it is.

The CAI would serve its purpose if it allowed colder air to reach the intake manifold. This (assuming we're re-using the same snorkel), would imply better air flow and better insulating properties to fight heat soak. Also it can be directly tested by anyone with on obd2 reader since air temp is directly measured. Colder air, even if limited in quantity due to ecu not getting re-tuned, will allow for more advanced timing (or less instances of pulling timing). Both are good things.

If you're looking at HP and TQ per $, these are a monumental waste of money. A lot of them yield a loss without a tune. Forced Induction delivers the best bang for your buck, and even with a SC and a tune these aren't worth it when you can just buy a drop in re-usable filter like a K&N for $70 and gain basically the same results. These might make your car sound a little better, but if you're serious about performance you either need forced induction, NO2, or just save up for a ZL1.

So, worth it or not? lol.. I have an accessories certificate, wouldn't mind using it for this.

If I was going to stay bone stock and was going to get one (because I had gift certificate or something), I'd get this one. However if there was a chance that I would add turbos or a SC down the road, I'd spend that gift certificate on the 6 piston upgrade...that's just me though.

Honestly, the CAI's look really cool, but not 500 dollars cool. I spent 60 bucks on a K&N drop in which actually seems to add some hp and torque, just feels like the engine breathes better. IMO just go with a nice drop in for the current intake system to replace that cheap paper one, unless of course you're cool with spending the money on the CAI in which case by all means go for it lol. I just personally feel like it's kind of a waste of money.

For those of you who want a top shelf CAI, the Roto-fab system is worth looking in to.

We produce our components in house, all the way down to the cutting, sanding, and cleaning of parts. We take great pride in our product quality and offer second to none customer service.

If you have any CAI questions, I would be glad to help.

Correct part number for SS is 84073383. Not sure what 84073382 is.. possibly for V6? Anyhow, just checked with Chevy right now and it is still listed as a future part.

From Chevy dealer specialize in performance parts, referred to by Chevy customer service. According to his system, it is still listed as a future part. Which site are you getting your information from?
