No
Fiat is making merger requests to both ford and GM and both have said they are not interested.

That was last week, This week on the 29th the undertone is changing. Most of the traders I know are buzzing about this. Fiat has the money for a hostel buyout.
In an interview with Reuters, Elkann confirmed that Marchionne has reached out to GM CEO Mary Barra via email about a possible tie-up. Moreover, Elkann further revealed that Marchionne's note to GM was "not the only conversation" the company has had with possible partners.

Barra reportedly declined Marchionne's merger proposition, but that doesn't mean a tie-up with GM is completely out of the question. When asked if his company would ever consider a hostile bid for an automaker like GM, Elkann said FCA would "act with determination if there are the prerequisites to do something that makes sense."

Marchionne believes there will be at least one major merger in the auto industry by 2018, so there could be some action on that front in the coming months and years.

A bunch of speculation.... Nothing concrete. I'll believe it when I see it.. Anyway did you miss this part?

The world's seventh-largest carmaker may have trouble finding a partner. Its debts rank among the highest in the industry, it barely breaks even in Europe and it is expected to burn cash for years. It is also smaller than most rivals.

Key obstacle

FCA's stock market value of $20.69 billion is far below GM's $58.48 billion and Volkswagen's 106.6 billion euros ($117 billion), ThomsonReuters data shows.
Hard to do a hostile takeover if your company stock is worth half of the company you are trying to take over.

Merging FCA and GM would make as much sense as resurrecting Olds and Pontiac. All the brands couldn't survive. Fiat is broke.

Ford might do cosmetic minor changes every 3 years but most cars do also and Chevy did also with the Camaro. Ford will come out with some minor updates in '17 to the Mustang to counter the new Camaro...most likely 10 speed transmission and possibly some other cosmetic minor changes.

Car makers do a 5 year cycle on a redesign and Ford did the same with the Mustang. New look in '10...changed in '15. You wont see a new looking design on the Mustang till '20.
