That doesn’t sound good. Hopefully they accept a load of orders soon. Quick question if you don’t mind. Do work bench sheets show if an allocation is associated with the order? On mine it says Allocation group: Cam. Is that just standard?

The allocation groups are CAM(coupe), CAMCON(convertible) and CAMALL. Some stores get separate allocation groups for coupe and convertible and some just get the CAMALL group so they can order their allocation as a coupe or convertible.

Thank you for the weekly insight, Gearhead.

Is it possible the strike concerns causing this?
Saw somewhere that people are now refusing to work OT now. Idk if that matters or not.

Still sucks for the all parties regardless. Hopefully, GM extends production to fulfill orders.

I have a question about the allocation / constraint system. If a dealer gets allocated a Camaro and chooses not to order one, does it go away at the end of the week? Or does it bank for use later?

Two weeks ago (before strike) I spoke with a dealer that said he got 2 allocations for 1SS but none for 2SS. He said he couldn't even order any because the LT1 engine was on constraint. I was wondering if that constraint was lifted, would the 2 allocations still be there. I really want a 2SS but just curious.

Damm if allocations have ended this will be an extremely limited 2024 model year run. Have prior model year runs experienced this dry spell of allocations before?

Waiting for a 2000 status is so stressful. I ordered a 2ss 1le vivid orange with sunroof 9/13/2023. Hopefully I am not late to the game lol. I don’t care how long it takes as long as they accept and build it. Dealer says they should get one soon and take a $1000 deposit then. should I be concerned. Any thoughts? I did have another dealer that said had an allocation but wanted 10% (6k) up front non- refundable. That is too risky for me. I don’t know if my financial situation will change. Unlikely but still.

My dealer only wanted $500 to place the order and said it was fully refundable even if I changed my mind. They could always sell the car.

This is why we need to eliminate all dealer franchise laws and make all dealers in America under the operation of the manufacturer like Tesla. So many inconsistencies and blatant lies.

I would be looking nationwide. My dealer said I went to 3000 on August 23rd. Chevy chat robot still says not officially accepted almost a month later. Dealer says he believes they will built my car but it won't be quick. Also said it will be difficult to get the ZL1 with it being the last year. I found a 23 that shipped from Florida and showed up locally this afternoon. I'll go look at it tomorrow or Saturday. Still have the active order but no guarantee's on it.
If you are set on what you want I would go and try to find it.

It will go to another dealer for that week. The dealer that originally got the allocation will lose it if they don't place an order that week.

Is GM alreday stop giving allocations?

I have my 1LT order at 1100 status for a month. My dealer told me they still didn't get an allocation. I contacted several other dealers in my area and it turns out non of them have got an allocation for these two weeks.

Yep, lol. I’m just hopeful that GM rapid fires the rest of the allocations over the next couple weeks.i won’t hold my breath.

One of my dealers just texted me that production may be halted in November.
