I placed my order at the dealership Friday, August 11th and it was accepted by GM on Tuesday, August 22nd. When I put my $1000 deposit down, I was told that it locked in the price and any MSRP increase for 2024 wouldn't impact me. I hope they hold to that because MSRP on the 2SS coupe is up $2600!

Once the car is built, there’s really not much the dealer can do as I’m finding out myself. The car gets transferred from the Lansing stock parking lot to a vehicle transfer shipping company (mine is at Precision Vehicle Logistics on MLK Blvd) and it will be bayed and sit there in the yard for the specific delivery truck that goes to your dealer.

But it won’t be loaded or shipped until the driver has enough cars for a full load delivery to the dealers on his route. So it could just sit there for days or weeks.

the car I bought (which was a canceled order) took 6 months to go from built to arrive at the dealer.

FWIW - my 2SS has a build sticker of 6/23 and was delivered to a dealer in TN on 7/20/2023. It was a sold order deal that didn't work out for the original buyer...
