Thinking about getting some long tubes for Zl1. What brand and size do you guys recommend? Let me know! Thanks.

GM Performance and American Racing Headers suppose to have a partnership deal with purchasing headers. Somebody here on the ZL1 forum posted up a web site from GM Performance. You might need to look into the so call deal.

I have 2" Kooks long tube headers with Cat deletes. everything else is stock exhaust. It sounds wicked.

I would get ARH if not only for the licensing. But they are a very good product as far as I can tell. Kooks are supposed to be very good as well as Stainless Works. I have not gotten any, but the research and buyers speak for itself.

Your gonna need a tune for cat deletes and LTs and yes, you will pick up some good power between the two. I am not real sure what exactly guys are getting peak wise but the power under the curve with a good tune and opening up the exhaust is pretty significant and will help even more as you continue to mod.

ARH has a better fit on the LT4 than Kooks. Here's the parts website.

ARH may be a little more $$$... but you pay for what you get and since you're driving a the best Camaro model go with the best header.

I would think that GM could offer the "Headers Package+ Tune" with ARH since now they are in bed together. It is such a simple option.

Don't get Kooks unless you're OK with leaving the factory X-Pipe and crushed rear section.

ARH is the best and makes a long connection system that deletes all of the factory crap except for the suitcase.

It's not simple at all. In order for GM to do such a thing, they'd have to jump through countless hoops for emissions, safety, warranty, and many others. It would never pass as something GM could do. If they had a subsidized performance company kind of like Roush for Mustang, then they could get away with it easier. But absolutely not easy for GM to do such a thing, it would cost them WAY more money to do then they'd make.

This is not entirely true.. Kooks now offers an X/Mid pipe in addition to their headers that replaces the crushed section and attaches to the factory NPP.. They even claim it fits on the convertible which is why I have it on order

I have the ARH long system on my ZL1 1LE. It hooks to the factory muffler. Sounds really good.
