MBRP Axle Back
Anyone have the MBRP axle back system installed on '16/'17 SS? If so, are you happy with the sound? I have listened to the videos on MBRP's website and the axle back sounds better than the cat back. Thanks!

I just installed my MBRP axle back today and I am absolutely in love with it. It's the perfect sound from idle all the way to WOT. Deep growl at idle which is very noticeable but not loud. Startup may cause pissed off dogs and/or neighbors depending on their tolerance.
Here's a shitty soundclip I made right after installing. First start with the system installed and i give it a few taps on the accelerator: https://youtu.be/_0zNDEulEYE |

Do you have the standard or auto transmission? Sounds really nice. Good price as well. Thanks for the video.

I bought an MBRP axle-back from a guy on this forum and have been loving it. If all you intend to do is the axle-back then it's a great choice. If you intend to do headers/remove cats etc then you may want to look elsewhere as I anticipate this exhaust will become pretty nasty with headers/no cats.

I have the M6. And thanks! I couldn't be happier with this setup. Absolutely love it. I got lucky and found a local guy selling his setup on a Facebook group and got it for an amazing price. If you are on the fence about getting this, I'll tell you right now to go for it. The install is very simple and the results will have you smiling like an idiot on first start and drive.

Yeah it's pretty loud with headers/no cats, video doesn't really do it justice

The MBRP has J-pipes already on it. Everyone I've spoken to says no drone.

Absolutely no drone. Sounds incredible in the cabin whether you're getting on it or just cruising.

I had the cat back system on my 16SS A8 and it was by far the best exhaust I’ve bought. No drone and kick azz sound getting on it and start ups...

Do they have an NPP option?

I bought the MBRP axle back and installed it last week, I got the stainless version and love it. Before that I had the fuse pull on the stock NPP but the MBRP sounds MUCH better. Install wasn't bad, but for me I had to swing by the local muffler shop so they could cut the pipes.

I don't believe so but i could be wrong. This setup is pretty much just a cuple J pipes. It comes with brackets to mount your NPP actuators up inside the rear bumper to ensure you don't get a code by running the car with them unplugged. I'm completely ok with not having NPP. I've run the car with the fuse pulled since the day I got it anyway. Once you hear this axle back in person, you won't want to choke it off with NPP. It just sounds too damn good.
