I went with the msd wires. Whatever wires you want will be fine. Don't buy too much into the marketing hype. If the wires were a lot longer then you might see a little bit of a difference, not with how short they are

Exaclty...no plug wire on the market is going to make a significant difference. Very little resistance with a wire that is only 12-14" long. We are long past the days of HEI distributor ignition with 36" wires.

Bought one wire from the dealer for now until I decide which kit to buy.
I am leaning towards the Holley Set. I like the angled ceramic boots.
Took 2 years for the wire to melt...so I have a little time to decide.

Cars been parked since last Wednesday. Had to take it for a quick trip...it wasn't very happy. StabiliTrak light, flashing engine light, etc.

Got the new wire on.
Checked the codes....all 8 of them!! MAP sensor, IAT, Baro, misfire... codes galore. Cleared them.
Started it up. Perfect!!
Drove 20 minutes and no issues.

Krazy how one little wire would screw so many things up. Make the whole system freak out like that.

I also feel the car is driving better than it has for months. That wire must have been causing issues for awhile.
Maybe I am just happy that my baby is better but I really do think it is running better.

Ordering new wires asap. 2 years with headers on, the other wires are probably damaged by the heat as well.

Having a similar situation right now. Got my long tube headers on, tuned it, randomly last week started misfiring after being parked for 30 minutes. P0305 code. Started it today to work on it and no code but funny idle. Drove car to shop to work on it and couldnt figure out a problem with the little knowledge i have. Drove home and got the misfire going again, 30 seconds later it stopped misfiring but the idle went to feeling funky again with no code again. Any insight please?

did you remove the spark plugs when you installed the headers? If not you likely cracked the porcelain on one or two...really easy to do.

I didn't do the install myself. A shop did it but it was probably 3-4 months ago. Would it take this long for something like that to kick in?

Thats wire #5. Pull it off and see if it's melted.

Any heat boots on the plug wire? A couple months of heat if it's touching will start to destroy the wire.

Mine had the 'funky feeling with no codes as well

Well, now I got the P0305 code.
The car was running fine, then I came to a stop, and as I started to accelerate it started missing and popping...like back firing.
CEL started blinking on/off, and then stayed on continuously.

I do have headers, but I also have DEI boots, and I could smell fuel when I shut the engine off. The car would backfire just idling.
It starts up with no problem, but then starts sputtering and rough idling.

I didn't check the wires yet as the engine is still hot, but will do in the morning.

The dealer did an injector replacement a while ago in cyl.5, but that was under warranty.
I hope it's not that...any ideas if this could be anything else?

And thanks for pointing out cyl 5, I had no idea where that was either!
