I'll try first the apple CarPlay before I think on changing my iphone, I know the eight inch screen version of MyLink will be compatible only with Apple CarPlay.

Sledge, If you can hold out for about a month maybe two at the most, the phone to get is the Samsung galaxy Note 5 Edge some sites call it the note 2 edge. It has a 24 meg camera, a 16 core processor and a true 4K screen so I hear. Plus wireless charging. If anyone has some info please share.....

No such phone, Note Edge no longer exists, hence the reason for the S6 Edge + that was released with the Note 5...I have been in IT support for 20 years and I am very up to date with Samsung and their products. Their next phone will most likely be the S7 in the beginning of the year.

I have only seen info on the Note 5. Did Samsung announce a Note 5 Edge? Links?

No they didn't, the S6 Edge + was released along side the Note 5, basically taking the place of the Note Edge, no more Note Edge, at least for this year.

Note 2 Edge or note 5 edge. Some sites have different specs but..... Samsung will not announce it when they just released the S6 Edge plus and the note 5. I guess we will have to wait and see...Either way I am waiting a few more days to see but I LOVE the Note line up and I can not think of a better phone period.

The new Impala does it better by having it in a pocket below the radio. Even with a micro suction rubber coating on the pad, the phone could still hop off. And a little silly to stick the phone behind you.

The 2015 Malibu has the best idea... phone pockets between the cup holders. Make them slightly deeper and put dual coils on each side of the pocket. That would be amazing.

Been using wireless charging the last couple years with my Nexus phones. The more coils on the pad, the better. If the charging pad is a single, center coil it will suck to align before you get moving.

Take a look at the pic on the first page. It's not the rubber mat holding the phone in place but actual grips(?) the phone presses into. Not sure how well they are going to work until someone puts a phone in it to see. The Malibu also doesn't have to worry about rowing gears, but I do like it's setup too.

This is really GM's play to get the phone out of our hands and to utilize the infotainment system. Using voice or quick one button pushes gets you away from holding your phone while you're driving.

Regardless if you agree or how good of a driver you think you are. I think this is a good thing.

That may be, but I honestly think they really had no other place to put it, the My Link screen doesn't even pop open for storage...that would be about the only other area that they could have placed it, but it doesn't even open for just storage.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VSFDJI6?psc=1 This link is to make your phone wireless capable for iphone. That company also services other types of phones fairly good rating. I will probably get this to take full advantage of the cars technology especially since it will have car play I can just set and forget.
