Factory Cold Air kit on 1LE

Has anyone ordered the cold air kit from the factory? If so, thoughts?

I have the CAI version and love it. The GM one is identical aside from branding.

Isn't the gm performance kit use a dry filter vs a oiled one?

I really like mine. The sound is much more open and raw and the engine certainly feels like it is breathing better.

I have one the gm one, can't really say I saw any performance gains since I have not tested any, but it does sound deeper and make a whoosh sound when you throttle it. I did get a 5.0 0 to 60 run with 4 people in the car (2 adults) my usual was 4.5 to 5.0 before the cai. Idk how much of a difference if any it would make as far as that goes.

So when you floor it, it makes more intake roar?

When normal driving, quiet as stock?
Is this the one that the dealer flashes the ecu for the CAI?

My 1LE came with it installed and the stock airbox in the trunk, it has a blue dry filter and the dealer programs the ECM for it. I removed the sound tube as it combined with the CAI was too much of a good thing.

Yea it makes a deeper sound when you give it the beans, but even between 2k to 4k when you just give it a 1/4 to 1/3 throttle it's appreciably deeper. A lot of it is extra induction sound so maybe too much for some peoples taste, but I think the initial whoosh upon acceleration is nice.

Quiet as stock when your not on it of just cruising in 6th.

It's louder and deeper all the time. I noticed the difference immediately after I installed it, with engine turnover and idle it was noticeably bigger sounding.

Did you order your car? In other words, did it come with it without you checking the box?

Chevrolet Performance Air Intake

This is the Chevy Camaro Performance Air Intake... I ordered it on my 1LE & the standard unit was placed in my trunk w/ all other pieces replaced with LPO items.

If you order any LPO items, ensure that your dealership understands that you want the original pieces, as my salesman dropped the ball (after numerous reminders), but the PDI manager saved the day. He had everything saved & boxed!

Your welcome, is the gm performance version of the cold air induction unit have a dry filter on it? I had the cai unit on my 14 ss and I loved it, that was basically a k&n oiled filter. Trying to decide which on to purchase.
