I will be pulling my pass seat out this weekend, so will have a chance to mess around. Probably add 12v and ground just to see how it operates.
Wonder if has the heater elements in them also?
At this point, I would be shocked if it doesn't have heaters in them.

Definitely can't wait for us to get this sorted! I would be beyond ecstatic to learn that all I have to do is purchase and install the Heat/Vent seat buttons! Doubt its that simple, but maybe...

Wow, if I could get the vented function to work (without a hack job) that would be cool (I have zero need for the heated portion).

I wonder if a vendor can come up with a plug and play solution?

Excellent work, guys!

A great test would be to plug one of these into a 2SS.

I'll see if I can grab a photo of the connector on my seat for comparison purposes.

THIS! I sent a PM to 5genDIY but it probably wouldn't hurt for others to do the same. I really want to just buy a kit for less than $100 that comes with the buttons so I can have the heated and vented functions.

BTW Vented seat on high during AutoX or Trackday would be epic!!!

I would definitely spend $100 to have the vented/cooled function, as long as the solution was nicely done (I would assume if a solution is made, it would do heat/cool which is fine). Meaning it uses the OEM dash buttons, or at least has some decent looking switch that is attached to the side of the seat. If that was the case, I may just do the drivers seat...

On a side note, are these seats technically ventilated or cooled?

Considering that the seats already have 12v power going to them for the adjustment and the airbags it can't be more than finding the wires and splicing them into a switch. The heaters/vent fans are probably already wired you just can't activate them since we don't have the switches (that's my guess at least). The Gen5DIY guys can probably figure this out, or someone with good electrical know-how.

I came up with part number # 84078980 which RPO Code wise is
CJ2 - "Hvac System Air Cond Frt, Auto Temp Cont, Aux Temp Cont"
KA1 - "Seat Heater"
KQV - "Heated Seat, Vented, Frt"

Its around ~$230 looking it up online probably can get it cheaper.

If the 2SS seat has the same number of pins and we have same fuses should maybe work.

Good find.

I'll take photos of the 2SS connector at lunch

I would be in for this if under $100 too!

Here is the connector from my 2SS on the drivers side:

The pins are different, especially on the left. This is chassis side, so not the seat connector itself.

Not going to be a simple switch change after all. :(

We need to find a diagram showing what the pins are for. A lot of the difference could be memory seat functions. Also how much different are the seat adjustments than the Recaros? Is there lumbar adjustments?

Very good points, most of the difference is likely just the controls for the memory seats and the heating/cooling. We don't need wiring for the controls routed up to the mylink or center panel, it could be done with simple toggle switches mount on the side of the seat. If someone could find the wires going to the fans/heater pads and isolate them then all it should need is a pretty simple setup to a switch.

Oh man it would be sweet if I could wire this up to work off the memory switch in the drivers door thanks to my ZL1 door panels haha but that would be a long shot.

I want to exhaust all options before abandoning the heated and vented buttons from a 2SS. I really hope someone with a 2SS and 1LE can meet up and see if its as simple as installing the switches. I don't know of any 2SS owners near me.

Great point about the memory seat controls

Here's a photo of the passenger seat connector. That would eliminate the pins for memory:

No lumbar adjustments, just front to back, height and seat back angle
