It's the lower part of my windshield. I've never had any other of my stupid number of cars do it though.

in some places like Florida it makes it just about impossible to see through the windshield. At night with cars coming you loose alot of the the little viability you have. It is a safety issue that should be a mandatory recall. The only way to fix it would be to remove the heat ac box and put a seal on the vent door to keep it from leaking.

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

You are correct sir! I've been posting this for three years.

This thread has full info.

Like the windshield must be removed, and it breaks.

They do not pull the HVAC unit.

GM has no fix other than one to remove a foam spacer they added to make the mode door leak to stop flutter noise on high fan speed.

They have the tech make a hook from a coat hanger to remove their added spacer.

Then it STILL leaks! Units after the spacer was stopped, leak too.

One of many reasons I am not able to buy this car.

3 years! No fix, just F it!

I have owned a lot of cars and never had this issue daily, I haven't had the time to get through all the replies but when i read its normal I had to respond. The most likely cause is a blend door seal that does not seal properly or a poorly designed HVAC box. I am responding to a thread from 2016 and i just bought 2 2018's and have had the problem on both from day one. I will read on and see what i find out. " ITS CALLED PHYSICS PEOPLE!!" is a stupid reply. So your saying that my 2017 Hellcat, 2008 srt8, and every other car or truck i owned defied PHYSICS. REALLY!!!

Just an idea, GM could come up with a low temp heating grid that would fit in the vent and only come on when the defrost id off. not hot but a lets say a 80 deg grid that worms the air leaking out the seal.

File a Vehicle Safety Complaint

Many already have, the more the better to get action

A fix I am using is simply cutting felt paper to the size of the opening. Then put a 1 inch by 1 inch piece of hook, from hook and loop (Velcro), hook side stuck to felt paper at the forward edge of the felt paper. Remove sticky side from hook, slide the hole piece into position. Push up ( I used a screwdriver to stick hook piece to windshield) when it is under the black window edge so its not seen. It will pull off when you want, wont slide off from spirited driving (Maybe the ZL1 guys will need 2 pieces of velcro).
I used black because it was sitting around the garage, but it looks like a dark grey would match better. Its easy to trim and get it to look good, and cheap when you make mistakes. It looks somewhat factory to me. I took a picture but cant post it. Hope this helps

Figured it out. Ignore the bugs on the windshield.

Seriously...? THIS issue is what's keeping you from getting a 6th Gen? Holy cow...so easy to mitigate. I applied a similar fix and I don't even think about it anymore. It's been raining and humid where I live for a couple weeks now and I had to look at my dash to remind myself it was still in place.

Go get your 6th Gen...this issue is the least of the things you should be worried about. The A8 torque converter shudder is more significant. I've had the 3X fluid flush, my TC replaced once, and I would do it again, in a heartbeat, to keep driving this car!
