I just did a zl1 differential swap on my 2014 SS.
The original bolts were the torx end style... The ZL1 bolts (larger bolts) were Hex style, according the the ZL1 swap instructions.

I got my bolts in for my 2011. They were also not torx.

I have a '13 and purchased a replacement bolt from Gm that has a normal head instead of the hex head mine came with. It has the same thread and was told by the parts counter that they must have changed design.
